Main Description:
________________________________________________________________________

In 2010 I bought my first firearm for home defense: a .45 ACP Rock Island Armory bone-stock M1911-A1 Tactical. It was a neat pistol but terribly suited for home defense. Over the years I’ve planned, purchased and bought numerous other firearms in my quest to find my “Goldilocks” home defense solution and here in 2021 I finally have it! This video reviews my Primary Weapons System (PWS) long stroke piston suppressed AR-15.

From the Miller v Bonta decision (2021):

“Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of
home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment. Good for both home and battle,
the AR-15 is the kind of versatile gun that lies at the intersection of the kinds of firearms
protected under District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008) and United States v
Miller, 307 U.S. 174 (1939). ”

1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

  1. Are you getting your home invade by china ??? Omg hahaha, as a person that didn't grew up with the gun culture, I see this to defend your home a little bit excessive lol, love the video and the rifle is awesome !

  2. I'm a good shot with my carry handgun, and I've put together several ar15s, but my go to home defense firearm for the past 5-6 years has been a tavor SAR. Only thing left is getting a suppressor, and the only thing that's been keeping me from getting that is the infringement tax.

  3. Hello. Extremely informative video!!! Ok, what was that you put in your can, a “wipe”??? Where could I get that and what would be the best subsonic ammo for my Daniel Defense DDM4V7 16”, I’m thinking about Surefire SOCOM RC2 Mini2 2.23/5.56?? Thank you an thank you for your timely response

  4. I own both a .223 and .556 ar platform, if Biden's ban goes through I will not be surrendering either of them or paying a fine. Basically what i'm saying is in that scenario, I will proudly/loudly tell the feds to go fuck themselves. Someone needs to put a foot down.

  5. Nothing against u Dave and I totally agree Americans have the right to own fire arms but I feel it’s way too easy to get automatic weapons and legally speaking auto rifles are considered weapons of war there for not protected against the 2 amendment but if we have stricter gun laws that require more background checks and screening I think there is no reason someone shouldn’t own a gun that they want within reason

  6. Reading through this and finding the people who know nothing about the 2nd Amendment or Firearms, in general, was hilarious. My favorite was someone calling this a full-auto rifle. So funny how much Hollywood BS people are willing to smoke.

  7. Man you got good taste in firearms. I love that Remington. I prefer Glock when it comes to pistols but to each his own I reckon. Also your AR looks a whole lot more expensive than mine lol.

  8. The best weapon for home defense is a shotgun, 12 guage semiauto bullpup loaded with 00 buckshot to be specific.

You want it to be semiauto so that it will not waste any time chambering the next shell, it also takes some of the power out of the shot diverting it to the cycling, but that's a good thing, cause you are engaging in extremely close ranges, and you don't want the buckshot over penetrating the walls and potentially killing someone other than your target. That's also why you use the buck shot, it will penetrate an intruder with deadly force, but penetrating the wall will take most of the energy out of the pellets, so they won't likely hit with lethal force against anyone on the other side of the wall.

Now, if you really want just raw power and don't care about what is in the other side of the wall, get you a pump action and load it with some 1 3/8 ounce slugs. And no, the purpose of the pump action isn't to scare them by racking it, it's so that every last bit of energy from the shell goes down range.

  9. Not trying to be mean but honestly most people don't have the money for a decent ar and the suppressor. Most people can only afford a pistol or shotgun. If you cant afford this type of gun i recommend a pump 20 gauge shotgun. Less recoil than a 12 gauge and they weight less too. Yes you do take a little less knockdown power but not that much. And 9 times out of them when an intruder hears a shotgun rack one they get the fuck. And you can do what i do with my shotgun just duck tape a bright flashlight on it and boom there you. A perfect gun for close quarters home defense. But if you live like ranger here does in place where it is wide open and plenty of range then get an ar-15 cause then you dont have to worry about hitting your neighbor. Ps love you dave keep up the great work.

  10. Quite a bit of overkill there! I'm not sure what or who you're expecting to break in. The Russian army or a bunch of men from Mars? You know most people live all their lives without having to have a gun in their homes! Or making plans for killing someone! LOL

  11. Great video. Agree with you, should use a rifle. However, its always a debate… But you mite want to check out an 9mm rifle.
Im an Marine officer and firearms/combat instructor in the Marine Commados. But that don't mean I know everything, so lets see if we can't put our heads together and talk about it.
We use 9mm when bording ships sometimes or in buildings (reference from my SWAT friends from the police). Why? Well, because of ricochets. 5.56 are a good but it has a bit more tendency to ricochet more (or in a more risky way) than 9mm. So, not talking about penetration here. I agree with what you said about that.
I see it in the tables I use when making exercises. A 5.56 that you shoot in to a tree and or some walls can ricochet up to 90-100° to both sides (depends on the ammo used of course, can be lower). But 9mm have a lot, a lot better numbres in the tables. They sticks in the Wall and/or penetrate it instead of ricochetting more.

So, whats your thoughts on that. As I said, its an debate… but… it fun and educational to talk about it.
