If you pay for your own optics it's a good idea to protect the lenses from solvent and especially lube. Oil is the #2 enemy of coatings (solid particulate being #1)

i'm not sure where the myth to never let the hammer dry fire to protect the lower from cracking came from… the lower never makes contact with hammer. at least with my ar the hammer is designed to hit the bolt release.
I have made this comment before, I saw him win the American Hand gunner Man on Man shoot in Montrose Colo in 96 with a revolver. I came in 2nd in my class.;-)

So the contact cleaner is the same as the Lucas pars cleaner cause none of the gun stores have it in stock but auto parts store has Lucas parts cleaner

Best gun oil is Mobile1 full synthetic. Literally your car runs 450/500 degrees even more all the time. How often do you get your rifle that hot? Mobile1 does not bleed off nor it burns out like every single gun marketing oil. Besides for $10 you literally have a lifetime supply instead of wasting money on gun products manufactures push to make money off of.
