Most Reliable 9mm AR EVER | Tactical Rifleman

Reliability is everything in a gunfight. We need to trust the guys to our left and right to do the right thing. We need to trust that the helicopters will be there on time, plus or minus 30 seconds. We have to trust that our gear will perform. This is especially important in our weapons. If your sexy STI pistol jams in the middle of a stage, you lose the match. However, if your rifle jams inside a building filled with enemy combatants, it might cost you your life. Reliability is everything.
Fast forward to the current trend of running pistol-caliber carbines, and it is easy to see why they are so much fun to shoot. Hell, even John Wick switched to a PCC in Wick-3. All fun and Hollywood aside, Pistol caliber carbines can be a great choice for home defense if you have disabled or very weak family members. Again, they have to be reliable.
I have been playing with 9mm AR carbines for decades. They have ran UZI mags, M3 mags, and lately Glock mags. Fun, but they were never reliable enough for me to say that I would take one to combat.
Enter the CMMG Banshee. This puppy is small, fun to shoot, and VERY VERY reliable. We ran it hard with mixed crap ammo, without cleaning, just to see how long it would go. Remember, my past experience said it would only be a box of ammo till we had a jam. We kept feeding it ammo, and just a little CLP; and we made it to almost 9,000rds before she jammed. After a good cleaning in my Hornady Sonic Cleaning Tank, it is back to running like a champ. I’ll give you another update in 6 months.
If you own a Banshee; let us know if yours has been running great also. I love this thing. No, I’m NOT being paid to say that. However, I am looking for an ammo sponsor. Thanks for watching, TR

  1. What buffer and buffer spring were you running in your ar15 lower when you put the banshee upper on it? I'd like to run my ar15 pistol lower with a 9mm banshee upper. Also I assume the cmmg banshee upper is for the Glock mags when you used the pmag adapter?

  2. KE9 by KE Arms with a 16 inch barrel is my choice. You have to build your own but its the most reliable PCC ive ever owned and i built mine for less than 800.00$ uses glock gen 4 17 and 19 mags.

  3. Ugh ur killin me! I made the decision to get a banshee at the worst time in firearm history! If you can find one it's either 4-6mos out with shipping or $2k-2500! 😭😭

  4. Sig mpx have been contract by the military. Wilson combat??! Don’t think so.
Not saying it is not a good gun but you can’t compare it to the MPX.
    Military contract solidified the mpx.

  5. I ordered one in April, finally got it in October, shoots like a dream. Even my wife who is not fond of the AR platform shot it and shot it very well. Love this little guy.

  6. How's this compared to a JP PCC or a MBX? I'm definitely looking for something that will be reliable for home defense primarily, but wouldn't mind taking it to the range from time to time. Great video btw, I'm more convinced about what would be my first PCC purchase to the likes of home defense with the Banshee at this point.

  7. Hahaha when he was like this is my registered lower I thought it was going to be full auto. But then he was like it's an SBR lol. Yeah bro you know you can just buy a stock online

  8. Can anyone tell me who is knowledgeable about law if these are allowed for home defense in the state of Connecticut. I know the mag capacity is limited to 10rd and assault rifles are banned, but if this considered a pistol, does the law change?

  9. Nice looking gun , have not had the pleasure of shooting it yet,but I have not seen any negative reviews. I recently picked up a Brigade BM 9 and have been very impressed with the quality , fit and finish and functionality of this USA manufactured firearm. It has some great features for the price. It has a great paddle type mag release that is very ergonomic and easily accessed without changing your grip and a proprietary hand guard with “ U-loc slots that accept both M-loc and Key-mod attachments. I only have about 200 rds through it so I’m not able to speak to reliability but so far I have had only one malfunction which was a failure to feed due to an ammunition defect. I have seen videos that talk about the last round bolt holdback not working with subsonic loads but I have yet to shoot anything but 115gr plus p through it. I feel it is a great gun at its price point and would encourage you to try it if you have not yet done so. Thanks for this review and I look forward to trying out the Banshee

  10. what do you think about the american resistance breakdown arpistol I just ordered one I thought it would be a cool toy and for the bug bag I never used one before it supposedly has the same parts the military uses for thier breakdown pistols kinda like the midwest industries airforce clone. I also really like the "we the people hand guard" its cut into the handgaurd just like the constitution law tactical folding brace and the cry havoc quick barrel disconnect I'm supposed to have it before Biden gets in office so before he bans firearms

  11. I love my banshee my favorite weapon purchase. I've never had a jam I'm disable so I have no where how many rounds you got. I've heard the mk47 gone a RIDICULOUS amount of rounds with no jam just stick it in the water to cool off

  12. I purchased one of these a couple years ago I’ve shot 5000 rounds through it not one hiccup gray pistol. Kind of pricey but I think it’s well worth the money

  13. How well does the Banshee shoot hollow points? I have heard a lot about the CMMG Banshee NOT BEING ABLE TO FEED, READILY AVAILABLE OFF THE SHELF HOLLOW POINTS FOR HOME DEFENSE.

  14. I'm sold! Update: I just purchased a Banshee 9mm upper with 3 mag conversion kits AND a Resolute 22cal upper for plinking/rabbit/squirrel hunting!

Going to train my wife to use the 9mm upper for home defense!
