This is just about the Cheapest 9mm AR9 (AR15) that you can buy, also by the end of the video
you should be able to tell that I am a big fan. So this is the first Davidson Defense build
that I have used or put together and overall I am very pleased, everything was in order except
for one pin and the dust cover was slightly out of spec.

Non DD Parts:

Guntec Colt Style Magwell Adapter
8.2 OZ Super Heavy Recoil Buffer
Anderson MFG Lower Receiver
ASC 32 Round Colt Magazine

There were a couple of issues where the bolt held back on it’s own due to mud/ debris and it fixed
itself in about 10 rounds. I also had a 2 magazine issues due to not properly inserted magazines. those
could be the magwell adapter (which kinda sucks) or the magazines which seem to be hit and miss with
people online.

All in all a stupid fun and dependable build even in the worst of circumstances.

total build cost me $355 not including the optics and accessories.

  1. Love the video.

How does DD compare to PSA? The issue with budget/ entry levels is the QC on the finished products. PSA has made their name pushing low price and quality, mass production.

  2. I honestly prefer the colt style look over any other (except for the new cmmg roller delayed blowback upper that works with converted std PMags, which is my new favorite.) Anything looks better than the Glock version in my opinion.

  3. People DOG the living SHIT out of this brand BUT honestly for the price it works well. I also have a AR9 build using a DD upper. No issues so far. Cool to see a mud and drop test.

  4. I just ordered all the parts for my first AR9 build and got the Guntec adapter, I hope I have better luck with it, lol! I got Duramags so hopefully it’ll run ok…I HATE ASC mags…got some of their 7.62×39 20 round and they are absolute crap…won’t feed worth a flip and the 2 .308 ASC mags I have will barely load 20 rounds. Great video though man, thanks for the info…you got my sub too!

  5. After hearing all the negative reviews of Davidson defense, I think this review makes very clear that if you know how to work on an AR and diagnose+fix issues, it’s a good to go company, but if you have no idea what you’re doing and expect this to run like a gun from modern warfare without any extra work, you might be disappointed
