Upper is currently out of stock. –

This is my favorite upper to shoot with about 7000 rounds being put through it so far. This upper assembly I bought complete for $180 about a year go. throughout the 7000 rounds I have had 1 malfunction with steel cased ammunition at zero degrees in the snow, so make of that what you will. The Bolt Carrier group is pretty standard mil-spec but it is full auto rated and MPI tested. This is a great training or budget upper but it should be noted that I have changed out the stock gas block to an adjustable gas block which has fixed the over gassed issues that Bear Creek Arsenal has with most of their uppers. some of their uppers are not terribly upper over gassed, but most are on the hot side. Accuracy is good, about 1.5-2.0 moa at 100 yards which is pretty good for a mil spec cheap pistol upper. 1-7 twist on the barrel which is good for heavier projectiles. let me know if you have any questions and enjoy!

Most of my Lowers are Palmetto State Armory as they are cheap (under$130) and have worked flawlessly. all of my triggers are rack grade Mil-Spec, nothing special. I have 2 Bear Creek (BCA) uppers, a Palmetto state (PSA) “big boy” upper and 2 custom uppers. I specialize in High value options for your everyday Joe & Jane in the recreational scene.

PS: I am not a pro, keep that in mind.

  1. I noticed you have your offset red dot mounted in front of the receiver at the beginning of the handguard rail. I have an HONEST question to ask. WHY do so many people say to NEVER mount optics on the handguard, but those same people are 100% ok with mounting front sights and lazers toward the front end of the handguard which have the most potential in that area to be thrown off IF the handguard was to shift? The way I see it, as long as your PRIMARY optic is mounted directly to only the receiver (no bridging between receiver and handguard) you should be good to go, right? I feel like these guys who have this opinion are referring to the handguards that use the super common mounting method of pinching the handguard closed around the barrel nut by tightening a few screws from the side underneath the handguard for a squeezed friction-type fit. I feel that systems where the handguard is locked down directly to the barrel nut via screws that come in from the sides, like yours, or from front to back/back to front, like the MK18 quad rail concept are probably the most stable free floating rail systems out there. Also, unpopular opinion here….I also believe if that there's a really good chance that you'd need to rezero your primary optic if your rifle took a hard enough impact to knock a good quality handguard loose even after installing it properly by using thread locker on the mounting screws and torquing them to spec.

  2. I'm looking around right now; gun sites and stores are depressing. Almost all out of stock, or they've gouged the prices. Super pissed I missed this deal, my cousin got one and told me about it while they were still in stock.

  3. I purchased one of the 18 inch side charging 350 Legend uppers back in May and had problems chambering a round. They wanted to cant at an angle that just wouldn't slide into the chamber. Over half the rounds would wedge into the chamber without fully going into battery. I tried it probably with at least 100 rounds and would not take the weapon out to fire it with these type of problems. I contacted BCA and they sent me a RMA to return the upper right away. They got it last week on a Thursday I think and it was shipped back to me today which is the Wednesday of the next week. So by the time I get the upper back, it will have been gone out for about 2 weeks. Not bad in my book. I have had companies that took way more time to fix and ship a upper back to me. So very happy with the customer service of BCA. The problem with the upper was the feed ramp. They had been machined too far down and were not doing their job correctly. New barrel and they shot 20 rounds through it and not one failure to feed or eject. Everything is working great now. I am very happy with this service I got from BCA. Although, quality control actually should have caught a problem like this before it was shipped out. So their QC isn't the best I have seen. And I found out about this problem online because others had had the same problem with their 18 inch BCA 350 Legend barrels, or chamber to be correct on where the problem is. And actually it is just before the chamber and the feed ramps actually guides the round into the chamber..so should be good to go when I get it back.

  4. I thought this was a great review until you brought up the illegal workers bit. If you would have done 5 seconds of research, you would have seen that the employees lied about their status and used illegal documents. https://www.ammoland.com/2019/02/ice-detains-30-people-after-raids-on-bear-creek-arsenal/#axzz6UN5YSMy3

I guess facts don't matter when you want to lie about a company whose products you rave about. Seems like you could have done a little research before bad mouthing them.

  6. Been waiting for a BCA 7.5" pistol upper to go back in stock. Ended up losing my patience (been waiting for weeks, seeing other uppers go back in stock and go out of stock) and buying a PSA (Palmetto State Armory) 7.5" upper. I regret it, because the PSA bolt is binding and grinding up against the PSA upper it came with. I fired one round after some struggle at the range, not thinking about it and it refused to cycle a new round. $350 vs. $225 (shipping considered).

Definitely going to be ordering the BCA upper… really regret the PSA upper. Alot. They have not gotten back to me yet either- but I suppose it wouldn't matter anyway. I changed out the barrel nut on the PSA upper, so I likely can't get it repaired or replaced anyway.

  7. Great video and great review! You've made my life harder since I'm in the market for a budget AR15 and BCA is well within that budget. Keep up the good work.

P.S. I'm subscribing but hopefully Promise can one day gain her freedom. Indentured servitude is awful but she should reflect on the life choices she made to get there! jk Keep up the good work!

  8. I've been heavily debating a BCA 12.7×42 (.50 beowulf) upper, and BCA seems to be the brand with the most good words about them. I'm an AK guy, and if I'm going to get an AR I dont want a cookie cutter AR, I want something not a lot of people have
