  1. You can’t tell a difference other than the Chinese knock off doesn’t actually have night vision, doesn’t actually use holographic technology, it won’t hold zero, it isn’t waterproof, it isn’t shockproof..and a kitten is killed every time one is bought. Other than that they’re identical.

  2. Several things: There is NO actual NV operation. NONE. You were expecting actual NV in this price range? Seriously? Second, you grossly overpaid: these are only about $35 on Aliexpress.com (search for eotech 558). The defective adjustment isn't uncommon–if you adjust too far, the internal connector breaks, and then it no longer moves. And to minimize parallax, place the sight as far forward as possible-that's all you need to do.

  3. Hi – I’m really interested in these optics, so thanks so much for the review.

These optics have a steep price tag for a replica, but this is within my budget.

However, I am afraid of purchasing one and it turning out to be sub par.

My major concern is the tint of the glass – we have all used the cheaper EOTech replicas, and we know how dark the glass is tinted with those.

My question to you is – how clear is the glass?

Is it workable in any conditions other than perfect daylight?

  4. Nice review, I have very similar thoughts on my replica, especially on parallax but I'm not sure I agree on the glass quality (I found out that without their included protector the glass was actually quite nice and bright with little to no ghosting with correct brightness). I bought the Holy Warrior EXPS3 about a month ago and the amount parallax was quite a bit upsetting at first. However I do also have EOTech clone from Nuprol (886 Holo Sight FDE) and when compared to that I noticed that HW has much clearer and brighter glass (I do not see any surface imperfections on my Holy Warrior lens, just on their acrylic protector) and has much much sharper reticle, very close to what I see on my Holosun sights (and I do love my Holosun sights). Unfortunately both Nuprol and HW replicas have terrible parallaxes but hey, it's for an airsoft and I can live with it. HW also stands out in terms of build quality and overall looks – from what I have seen probably the best looking EOTech replica out there.
As for the negatives – yes, reticle is bleeding on brighter settings but even my Holosuns do when turned too bright for the conditions, with adjusted brightness there is no visible bleeding around the reticle. Ghosting is pretty much the same case – it's noticeable when reticle brightness is set too high for the environment, once adjusted it's very manageable. I don't know whether NV mode works, don't have any nightvision goggles.
Now the biggest problem besides parallax that had with HW clone wasn't actually problem with the sights but rather their lens protector. It's crap – it's poorly molded and distorts the vision, it's making the sight picture a bit darker and fussy, and it was by far the biggest source of ghosting (reticle appearing multiple times instead of just once). I like the idea to include protector with sights, it clearly shows that they are aiming it for airsoft market, but I suggest getting Guns Modify EOTech Lens Protector instead of using the one included with HW replica, it's night and day difference.
All in all I would say it's a really good sight for the money, especially if you wanna go for the looks. I love the reticle sharpness and glass is pretty good too (worse than my Holosuns but much better than Nuprol). The only (sort of major) let down is the amount of parallax which is on par with other cheaper replicas / sights that I own. Could it be better? Yes. Do I regret getting it? Not at all, it's a great looker, just don't use included lens protector and remember to adjust the brightness according to the environment so that it's not too bright to cause ghosting/bleeing.

  5. Out curiosity, where you able to test the optic under the sun? here it gets VERY bright in summer and makes almost every optic unusable since the dot gets washed out
