  1. Well here's the update on my new TLR-8a red lens. I went to the range today to zero and test fire my new laser light. OMG I love this thing. Right out of the box with no adjustments attached to my G45 Glock. Every round I fired was right where I put the dot from the beam. I mean right on the dot every time. I didn't even need to use the sights on the pistol. If you want to get a great laser light combo this is the one. I can't say anything about the green light laser except I saw a test of this light/laser and the green was washed out on some colored targets.

  2. i just purchased the TLR7 for my wifes new G48MOS. tightened down all the way the light is too loose. my fault for just looking at pics on google and ordering it without researching. which light out of the box fits the new 43x and 48 MOS versions?

  3. These do NOT have momentary on. If you just want a fraction of a second of light, IT STAYS ON!

If you actually want it to turn off after using it for a quick target ID or while moving around obstacles, you have to leave it on for a full second to get it to turn off.
This is exactly opposite of what it should be.

  4. Does the TLR8A-G work in VERY cold weather?

Green lasers that are based on an IR diode will quit working in the cold while laser modules that are actually green tend to work just fine.

  5. Indeed you cannot change out the rear from a TLR-7 and TLR-7A. The internal contacts on the 7 are located on the side of the control board eg the side location of the push pressure switch. The location of the illuminator contacts on the control board of the 7A are located on the rear/back under the paddle switch.

  6. Picked up the TLR-7A based on this video. The out-of-the box configuration with the univ-1 key fits just fine on my Polymer 80 G19. Bezel fits flush with the barrel. Light is amazing. You can illuminate a dark room (tested in a 20×20 room at night) pointing the light directly at the ground around 3 feet off the ground…it's a powerhouse of a light. Thank you Mrgunsngear!

  7. I've been wondering. How often do you accidentally knock something off your table and it goes flying into the water behind you? It's had to have happened at least once lol or at least had a few close calls.

  8. Great review might have missed it but besides buttons any other differences besides buttons, i.e. whether more lumens over previous version. Holster manufacturers need to get with program and make some holsters for the TLR7/8 with popular handgun makes (i.e., Glock 17, 19, Sig M17, M18, etc). Paddle switches like TLR1/2 will get you noticed at the worst time, too easily tripped don't like.

  9. I don't understand why the momentary requires a long press, while a continuous beam requires a short press. I know several manufacturers do the same thing. It seems that it should be the opposite. I like the flexibility of the tlr1 switch, but it is a little too bulky for a compact. Any thoughts?
