I do some shooting with the Vortex Viper PST Gen II first focal plane 2-10×32 scope on several rifles, go over its features, and what I think of it overall.

  1. Iā€™m not confident about shelling out $Aus 1,500.00 for one of these when all I hear is ā€˜awesome backupā€™….fine for you in the States….if youā€™re into questionable reliability. Not so good beyond the US of A….
Is it a better scope than an SHV aside the extra features?

  2. Listen to this man!!! All you dummies that say "this is a 2 BY 10 BY 32 scope " are just that…..dumb asses . A 2-10X32 is read as he refers to it as. There is no such optic as a 2X10x32 . Like what would that even look like!?

    RANT over

  3. I wish these lower power optics were SFP. Theres no need for a FFP reticle on a 2-10 power scope. If you're using holdovers or ranging you're going to be on 10x. This scope is pretty much useless on dark or cluttered backgrounds on 2x.

  4. This is the scope i chose , its functionality per dollar is astounding. Put it on top of my SPR build with PRI : delta fore end with top rail,Folding front sight gasblock , 18"CBI 1:8 Wylde, warcomp, mags llc Enhanced Fixed Stock A1 length, armalite M-15 lower w 2 stage trigger, gemtech bcg, jpe silent captured spring, super charging handle. Basically planned it out the entire time i was in japan. Knights : 600m buis, ambi selector, vert grip. Utg bipod.

  5. Real question; why would you want both exposed turrets and a complex reticle (eg BDC, MIL, MOA)?

As I see it, the whole point of a complex reticle is so that you don't have to mess with the turrets. Right? The only utility for a complex reticle with exposed turrets is for initial range finding and then adjusting turrets accordingly. Other than that just pick one.

  6. You think you could talk about Troy Industries, Mid west, and Aero precision? Iā€™ve heard great things about the three and would like to get a mid range price ar for home defense/ shtf.

  7. I have a PA 1-8 on my 308 AR I setup to be a DMR and have been seriously considering swapping out for one of these. I have the 6-24x gen 1 on my RPR and I really like it. Oh and by the way, that Seekins šŸ¤—šŸ˜„
