My Website:

Today we’re gonna take a look at the Truglo Tru-Brite 30 series.
1-6×24 illuminated reticle scope. Currently at the time of the video this scope retails on Amazon for about $155 dollars. ( These 1-6 Scopes recently have been taking over the market. one of the main gripes are the price of these scopes. For example the primary arms version runs about 290$ and The Vortex Strike eagle at 329$. The Truglo comes in at half that price. But how much quality are you sacrificing going with the Truglo 30 Series? I can Tell you without a shadow of a doubt the better value you get with the the vortex and the primary arms outscores the Truglo by a lot. But not everyone has $300 dollars to throw down on a scope, especially if they just got done buying or building a rifle. Thats the boat im in right now. so after some thought I decided to go ahead and give the Truglo a try.

Overview: The scope comes in a sort of chincy box, but that is to be expected for a scope in this price range. Inside the box you get a manual, Microfibre cloth, some Allen wrenches, an Extra elevation turret, Scope mount, throw lever, and flip up scope caps. As for the finish, it is pretty much flawless, very smooth and matte. I believe it is some kind of nitrite coating but i am not certain as Truglo doesn’t give to much information out about this scope
on their website. One of the Cool things about this scope is that it comes with Its own scope mount. I will say the mount is made exceptionally well and is very solid. The down side is its pretty bulky and very heavy, but for just being an add on you cant go wrong. Especially since these style of scope mounts can go anywhere from 50$ and up, its nice that they include one in the package. The scope itself has a 30mm tube and is shock resistant up to 1000 grams. This is a second focal plane scope meaning the The reticle stays the same size as you go through the different magnifications. On top of that it is Waterproof, fog proof, and
Nitrogen purged. The truglo has a 24mm objective lens and I found the eye relief to be more than enough coming in at 3.75 inches. The package also includes two different BDC style Turrets.
One for (55 grain) .223 and one for (168 grain) .308. When making adjustments the scope is adjusted in 1/2 MOA clicks. Since these are BDC style turrets, once you sight your scope in at 100 yards making longer distance shots can be adjusted very quickly and
easily. The Truglo has no Turret caps. Simply Pull the Turret up to
make adjustments then push back down to lock those adjustments in. Once you are sighted in at 100 yards, the caps can be removed and re allocated back to the 100 yard hash. The flip up Scope caps are a nice addition as well. they are removable and seem to be made exceptionally well. Along with the scope caps they also included a throw lever to allow for quick zoom adjustments. Often when shooting the most common magnifications used is 1x and 6x. By having the throw lever this makes switching between the two a lot faster.

Reticle: Moving on to the reticle. Unfortunately it is not a BDC style reticle like the other 1-6 scopes on the market, but it does have a pretty unique and tactile design. (4:49) It features a small dot in the center, surrounded buy a circle and then followed up buy
some mil dots. Personally I don’t prefer mil dots on my scopes, but if you know how to properly use them they can be helpful. My favorite part about this scope is when you turn the illumination on, only the center dot and circle lite up instead of the whole cross-airs. This allows for very quick acquisition shots, essentially
allowing you to use this scope like a red dot. Although I would
prefer a bullet drop compensating reticle, for the price of this scope I can live with it.
