Here is the unboxing of my BCM KMR enhanced light weight upper receiver with 14.5 inch barrel, 13 inch keymod handguard, and bcm gunfighter comp mod 1. As well as a complete overview of my build. I intend on adding an aimpoint micro t1, noveske qd end plate and a magpul ms4 qd sling.

  1. Question- I just bought a brand new complete BCM RECCE 14 (14.5") .. Got this gun for my primary SHTF rifle and it will not shoot steel at all, literally every other round is FTF/short stroke with wolf ammo. My DPMS and most other AR's eat wolf no problem. Does your BCM Have problems with steel case? How do I fix it? I shoot brass but in SHTF we don't always have a choice so I do not want my SHTF rifle to be picky/finicky when it comes to ammo. Thanks.

  2. So mine is the 14.5 bcm lightweight upper but it's standard . What's the difference between the enhance vs standard lightweight ?
And 5.10oz is very light . Nsz85 BAD build was 5lb5oz and it's got titanium parts and lightweight barrel all over it lol so if my 14.5 bcm lightweight upper on my BAD billet lower weight in under 6lbs I'll be very happy

  3. This is exactly what I just ordered yesterday.  So excited to get mine.  This is my 6th AR build and I'm more excited about this one than my first.  Been almost a year since you got yours, how's it been running for you?

  4. Aimpoint and EOtech are both combat proven sights. The aimpoint is personally my favorite but they're pricey. A micro H-1 & Larue mount is roughly 600$ and it's non NV compatible. You can buy an EXPS3 for that. An EXPS2 can be had for roughly 500$. I sold my aimpoint, ultimately for the wrong reasons. Trying to get into NV and thought i would need a NV compatible sight so i decided to switch to an EOtech. Though later found out less your going to mount a PVS 14 on the weapon you can't really aim with a helmet setup. So it was sort of pointless to sell. That said i'm eager to try an EOtech EXPS2-2. Battery life certainly goes to Aimpoint. Durability is a toss up, though i've seen aimpoint takes some serious punishment. I've never seen the EOtech do so but i hear good things.

Currently deciding whether or not to sell my 14.5 and get a 16" KMR. To change my 14.5 to a KMR setup would about cost the same as a new upper.

  5. The EoTech 552 has served me well and if you get one from LaRue it will be solid. That being said I beat my guns up and my current work rifle has an Aimpoint T-1 on her, check my Google + Account buddy. I have been high volume round count testing the BCM KMR upper this past month and will continue testing for a good while, I update with photos every Tuesday night.
Train and run that gun hard buddy!

  6. Nice. I was planning on "building" my first AR exactly like this one.
Can you explain the difference between the "enhanced lightweight" and the regular version. Is it just like the lightweight or does "enhanced" mean something different?
What was your total cost? (lower+upper+back up iron sights)
