Trying to figure out which one would be best for hunting Big Foot,
450 bushmaster has 100fps more, 160 ftlbs more energy, and it's about 40% cheaper for bulk full power stuff, and shoots flatter. I see no reason for the 458 socom anymore

alot of companies making ammo for 450bm – defender, precision one, hornady, winchester, federal, great lakes, hsm, black butterfly, steinel, polycase, underwood and buffalo bore
If you don’t mind me asking…. is that the matsel bridge shooting range? Iowa native asking, looks nice and I know they rebuilt it a few years ago.
Excellent channel, especially your 450BM build. Could you maybe put together a summary video of your current 450BM setup? It looks like you have made several iterations over different videos: buffer spring, mags, muzzle break, optics, etc. It'd be handy to get a recap of parts that you found to work best with 450BM so we can use them for our own builds! …on whitetail….a lot of states that aren't Texas…we welcome immigrants from states with silly gun laws.
The biggest benefit to the 450 Bushmaster is that it is becoming a very common round in stores and you have rifle options (bit fuddy so I'd rather have a bolt action and wood stock for hunting).
Ultimately, I probably would have went with the 45 Raptor or the 50 Beowulf if it wasn't for the ammo availability.
I've heard 458 socom doesn't suffer much from shorter barrels, I've noticed rifles chambered in 450 Bushmasters have long barrels and alot of 458 socom are in the 10-12 inch barrels
Hey lance I’m not sure if you know anything about American Defense scope mounts but I have a 16 inch BCM SOCOM upper with a A2 front sight in carbine length and I’m not sure witch scope mount to buy from ADM or if it really matters Iv been looking at the AD RECON 30mm and I’m putting my PA ACSS 1X6 in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
Just ordered a .450 bushmaster upper today in preparation to help my aunt with her hog problem down in Texas. Can't wait to try it out!

I am in Iowa as well and building a 450 Bushmaster for deer. What length of barrel do you use? I was looking at the 18 inch.
Hey fellow Iowa 450BM hunter here. What mags are you using? Looks like the black aluminum 450BM ones but what are the FDE ones? I've had a hard time trying to find poly mags that will work in my 450BM.
