I'm down with the steampunkt look. You should and some bands to the gears so it appears that it's actuated by mechanical means. I'd do the grip to look more like a Mauser C96. The flash suppressor could look really cool with something like what's on Han Solo's pistol. Give it that wide opening at the barrel end.
You could also put a 10 round mag in it and devise a cosmetic attachment to make it appear to be a wheel gun. It appears to a .300BLK so if you add a suppressor you could add an air tank to it to really give it a mechanical look. Just make sure that none of the cosmetic attachments get you afoul of the law.
A brass "scope" tube would look bad ass on it too!
