An incident at work the other night prompted me to take a good look at my backup light and to upgrade.

  1. I've been carrying a Streamlight Scorpion as a back-up for the last few years.  I've been trying to find something small to replace it (or to convert it to LED).  I might have to purchase one of these Stylus Pros.

  2. So many to chose from, Why not like a Fenix P20 with about 200 L and runs on 2AA? Just asking why 40L when more is available? I have other lights that have around 200-300L from OLight, and the other zillion companies out there. But the Fenix is AA and enough light, and sticks out of my hand like the Stylus. Just curious…Stay safe. A lot of people use the Stylus, so it must be handy ..

  3. I carried one of those of those for years. I wanted something that was close in size but more light (brighter and more throw). I am a HUGE fan of stream light. I now carry a protac 2l. It makes the stylus pro look like a firefly! The down side is that it uses cr123 batteries, but that is what makes all that light possible from the such a little light! Get a protac 1l or 2l and try it out. about the same size but fatter.

  4. There's a spare bulb in the end cap of every Maglite.
I have the 4Sevens Titanium Preon, and Preon 2 pen lights.
If you want a fantastic duty light look at the 4Sevens Quark Pro QP2L, or the Quark Turbo QB2L.  I've had my Pro QP2L for 3 years now, best money I ever spent.

  5. I bought one of these about 3 years ago and never had one issue with it, I am sad to say that it snagged on something when I was at a gun show last week and is now a great little light for someone else. I will be ordering another very soon.

  6. I have the smaller version that uses 1 AAA battery, and it's a good light. The only drawback to the smaller version is that it's plenty small to attach to a keyring and/or carry in your pants pocket, then it can be accidentally clicked on while in your pocket and drain the battery. Great to see a vid from you!!

  7. The Micro-Stream and Stylus Pro are my two favorite EDC lights. I have both and carry one or the other on/off duty. I have to set the courtroom up every morning before everyone arrives and both of these help me immensely. Also checking the holding cells for inmates coming to court. Love my Streamlights. Especially the button tail switch.

  8. gotta look into that one I have the original Stylus that takes the 4 A batteries and one flash in some ones eyes leaves them temp blinded , this one will be easier to find battries

  9. Is it just me or do many guys enjoy buying and collecting flashlights, I know im not the only one but I dont get it. I must have 2 Doz flashlights and always find myself drawn to the flashlight section of the store each time I go.

  10. i have both my micro stream is my edc as a security guard it fits in my cargo pocket well and has been a great light for quick use thanks for the vid

  11. That's a good little light. I carry a Preon P2 for my little EDC light. The other night I was in a humungous accident and totaled the car…nothing I could do to avoid it at 60 mph.. Everybody walked away thank God, but my P2 along  along with my pens flew out of my pocket hit the top of the windshield and then went through the air to the back of the SUV..
While waiting for the tow, I searched and found them all. P2 still works perfect and so do "Uniball Impact" (a now apropos name)  pens.  It's a great little flashlight, I keep rechargable AAA's in it. I've heard good things about the Stylus Pro's too..

  12. They're really good lights. I carried one for about 5 years and it still works to this day. I did recently move to the protac2 aaa because I wanted something a little brighter but in the same form factor. Can't go wrong with either one imo

  13. I carry the ProTac myself. I really like it.  I would prefer something that used less expensive and more widely available batteries, but I really like the light that the ProTac puts out.

  14. These small flashlights available today are great, I keep in the car, use it walking away from a campfire into the dark so I won't trip, in the dark garage etc…

  15. I've bought 4 micro streams thanks to your positive opinion of them. 2 for me, cause I'm lost when one goes MIA for a day or two, and one each for my boys. I LOVE them. Maybe I'll try this one too.

  16. i switch out the  batteries every week with rechargeable batteries , that i charge with a wall charger . cheaper , plus ill never have dead flashlight , carry extra bulbs too

  17. I carry my stylus pro with me every day and have for the last 3 years. I'm a maintenance machinist and I use it at work everyday also. It's a little beat up and the finish is almost wore off but it works just as good as the day I got it. I'm debating weather I should get another stylus pro or try out stream lights pro tac 2AAA, but the stylus pro has operated flawless for me.

  18. i have a stylus pro too mine is 80 lumen but is not that reliable, i suggest you get a Fenix PD32 UE put out 740 lumen is compact reliable way better then the maglite.

  19. This was my first EDC light. It just does not have enough power to serve as my off-hand weapon light. I use the Streamlight ProTac now. Uses (2) cr123 batteries and its oddly bright. Fits in the pocket just like the Stylus Pro. Check it out.
