Bushmaster AR-15: CAA Carry Handle UPDATE

I love this rifle. Unfortunately, the Command Arms Accessories handle I put on it sucks. My advice: Don’t buy the carry handle from CAA. The lesson learned is that if you’re going to buy a great rifle, get quality accessories to go with it.

UPDATE: Since I made this video I realized I WAS WRONG! See the link in the annotations for how I screwed the whole thing up. Thanks for watching!

  1. You're doing it backwards. Remember your FORS. Front opposite rear same. If you want your point of impact to move up you have to lower your front site post and raise your rear.

  2. Glad you took the time to make a video, wether it is an accurate review still can help people, however just be aware if you watch this video that most reviews as this one are only opinions and there are many different factors that effect his situation, therefore it is not just the rear sight that is the problem here but most likely the front sight, but informative never the less

  3. The F stamped front sights are for the m4 style ARs because colt didn't factor in the flat top correctly with who made the detachable carry handles. That is why the F stamped front sights are on the m4, they goofed by .040". The easiest solution is to change out the front sight post for a slightly taller one. The elevation on the carry handle is only used for ranging.

  4. Commercial carry handles differ from mil spec carry handles. Use a mil spec carry handle for a FSB labeled with an "f." You can also purchase a taller front sight base.

  5. What I always do is make a peace sign with my right hand and a front post out of my left pointer finger, if you raise your right hand, the bullet drops, liweer the peace sign, and the bullet goes up. Just a tip.

  6. Bushmaster sells a .040" taller front sight post for this problrm ($5.50). Also works well if you use the improved battle zero. It keeps the sight post from coming up out of the detent.

  7. @juanriv01 The whole point is that I don't only leave up the videos that make me look smart. I admit when I'm wrong and I state it in the annotations. This is my first experience with CAA., so they may have fine products for all I know. Thanks for watching.

  8. @hartncali When I bought this handle, it was only meant to be temporary until I could afford a better fixed rear sight without the handle. That way I can mount an optic as well. I’ve gotten rid of this handle and am saving up for a new rear sight. I’ll keep the reverse adjustment in mind. Thanks!

  9. Try reversing your sight adjustment. Front sight Down and Rear sight up! I think your best bet is to either buy a bore sight or take it to an FFl dealer/ Gun store to adjust it for you. I hope this helps! Good luck

  10. @mindsmirror Man, I only wish I had known this before I bought it. Oh well. I actually returned the handle for a refund today. I plan on getting a different rear sight anyway. Thanks for the tip, I'll check this out before I buy another!

  11. Is that an "F marked" front sight base? I ask because the height of the front sight is not always the same on AR-15's and can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you look up "F front sight base" in google, the very first page that comes up is a thread about this. The second post in it points out that in order to zero some Bushmaster M4's (Depends on ammo and various factors), you may have to purchase a taller front sight post. It may be something you want to look into.
