6.5 Grendel from Palmetto State Armory has some incredible features. Magpul Furniture, Exclusive Rails and Upper, Lower Receivers with Barrel all made in house. I am looking forward to putting this rifle to the test with the Hornady ELD 123 Gr.

Barrel: 416R Stainless steel. Chambered in 6.5 Grendel, with a 1:8 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a rifle-length gas system. The barrel is finished off with a PSA 15″ Lightweight M-Lok free float rail, .750 adjustable gas block, and A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is machined to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized. Uppers include forward assist and dust cover. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a Mil-Spec manufacturer.

Lower: These forged lowers are quality made using 7075-T6 aluminum and are marked “MULTI” for the caliber. Finish is hard-coat anodized. The Mil-Spec diameter 7075-T6 buffer tube is hard-coat anodized, has six adjustment positions, and is fitted with a Magpul MOE STR Stock. The grip and trigger guard are Black MOE components and the fire control group is a PSA Nickel Boron 2-stage trigger assembly.

  1. *MAN OH MAN, those heavy grain Grendels? I don't care what anyone says, the PSA guys here in near Beaufort where I live, THEY DIFFER DEPENDING ON WHO IT IS, BUT THE MARSOC VETS/A HANDFUL OF TOP TIER SMU TYPES? THEY'VE TRIED NOT ONLY THE GRENDEL UPPER CUSTOMIZED FRANKENSTEIN BCM, while also trying THE ACTUAL WILSON 300 HAMR!…I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH….I EVEN GOT IN TOUCH W/A FORMER OPERATIONS DIR FOR FN USA WHO'D SPENT YRS W/ARDEC WHO'D FINISHED THE LMT CSWs FOR ANOTHER MARITIME SMU (THE ALL STARS I BET STILL) BUT FOR GREEN?
THEY MADE THESE CUSTOM "HOG HATCHET"THROWING 14.5" BUILDS AMAZINGLY WELL & THE CANS FROM PSA WORKED GREAT, BUT SUREFIRE GAVE THE SOF AND AWG GUYS A NEXT GEN CAN, AND THE WORD RIGHT BACK WAS THAT THE GRENDEL "WAS BY FAR THE BETTER LOGISTICAL CHOICE, IN TERMS OF EASE AND SACRIFICING A MERE COUPLE ROUNDS W/THE PMAG ETC ETC, AND THEY'RE RUTHLESS LIKE ZEUS' LIGHTNING BOLTS" (YES that was how they described the AVI ops they ran in the MH6s during OIR in Al Tabqah (ERV in Syria, no Iraq I believe) and it never failed to pull the plugs on em w/center right mass hits to the front on most threats they faced, even w/light body armor(hence the ARDEC guy says when asked "well, I think it'll change things but HOWEVER, we should have every NATO upper ready to do either 300 BLK SBRs or do the 6.5 Grendel w/16" at the longest for MOUT style situations

  2. FYI. PPU has completed their corrections and testing on 6.5 grendel. I have an ar15 with a match bull barrel and was getting sub moa groups. I returned over 960 rounds to them when they had the recall. They are sending me some samples in 2 weeks according to Marta. She contacted me yesterday. Hopefully it is equal or better in performance and also brings down the cost of 6.5 grendel. For comparison, i was getting maybe a touch better out of the Hornady ELD. I was getting light primer strikes from the old PPU. Since then I've put a heavier spring in.

  3. Would you say the 20” PSA 6.5 Grendel has any disadvantages or advantages over this PSA 18” 6.5 Grendel you reviewed? I initially wanted to buy the 18” but PSA is always out of them and have been thinking about settling for the 20”.
    -thanks

  4. I have an 11 inch 556 PSA upper on my SBR, I have fired over 4000 rounds through it and I have never had one malfunction, I've run it through 3 combat carbine courses, night time and low light as well as home defense, for $329 can't beat it. I can't wait for my 6-5 Grendel and 12in imma be here this week

  5. Cant wait to see more on this baby! I got a 20 inch PSA upper recently and wanted to see what it looked like underneath the handguard. I built my lower and am putting a custom stock on it.

One thing I noticed: I dont see the same alignment tabs for the handguard. Its a different one from mine anyhow. The P rail doesn't stretch the full length of my handguard.

  6. I understand people this product because they are on the low end of ARs but brother cmon. When did you start working for them. All you guys on YouTube are the same, start out making a video and then your a fricken salesman. In your case your a salesman for a cheap AR company and your a retired military guy ….wtf. That’s like calling the kettle black. I liked your videos right up to the point before you became a salesman for a gun company and a cheap one at that. Yes people can’t afford to buy a Colt but they can afford to buy better that this shit. It’s my opinion brother and mean no disrespect to you. Hickok 45 is pushing the NRA and Buds gun shop and list goes on. I love my guns and love god himself but I will be damed to push a cheap product on someone when DPMS, S&W 15 and other like this sell better product

  7. Really looking forward to the range video. Can you tell if the rifling is 5R or 6. I’m looking for an upper and was thinking about a Satern Barrel, but if the PSA shoot sub MOA I’ll probably just go with that.

  8. Similar to my 18" satern barrel build. I installed an mbt trigger. Very accurate but hates the Hornady black match ammo. Looking forward to your testing. Love the grendel as do many others!

  9. I am a big fan of PSA as well. .224 Valkyrie and 6.5 Grendel uppers with PSA and Anderson lowers. I'm using rise armament ra-140 3.5 lb single stage triggers. Very pleased. Always enjoy your videos, showing you can get great quality without paying a fortune for a great MSR. Appreciate all your vids.

  10. You my friend are what we call an enabler. I had to unsubscribe from Palmetto State email list.. As I could see my habit getting out of control.. And now you come along with this.. Seriously I'm really looking forward to your review on this rifle. I just assembled a lower with nothing to put on top.. This looks like a great topper.. Thanks for the videos
