No such thing as a “budget AR15″ in my opinion. This looks to be a reasonably priced American Made AR that has received good reviews.

  1. Got the same thing. Got my rifle at gander mountain. They are going out of business so everything was super cheap. It was around $600 but they dropped it to $300.

  2. yes you can add stuff and make it better but the initial quality of the rifle and materials used is what you get…kinda like putting lip stick on a pig… I've owned this rifle for like 6 years now and no problems what so ever.. good shooter for sure…

  3. I'm from St. Cloud MN just down the road from DPMS. A good chunk of their employees are vets (Military, not animal). Another fun fact is that the boxes for their rifles are assembled by a company that employs individuals with developmental disabilities. Giving them an opportunity to work where they otherwise wouldn't be able to at a normal job due to their disabilities. Too bad DPMS is moving to Alabama. Oh well, Nice video though.

  4. When you say 12000 round gun what do you mean by that? And Im not being a wise guy, Im pretty new to the AR platform and just wondering.. Does the barrel crack or the bolt carrier cam crack out ? springs? I know DPMS only has a 3 year warrenty and I know DD is a great weapon, colt great weapon, I have a DP and didnt want to buy it but it was the day after sandy hook and it was still cheap. The next day the same dpms was selling for 2000$ WHAT? lol,,, Thanks man. Jus lookinng for some input

  5. Maybe it was just a coincidence but the one time I actually took my pro mag to the range and decided to use it, I had an FTE. Granted, I was shooting TULammo steel cased but when I shot that through my Pmags, no issues so who knows.

  6. Don't forget, with this model do not put Magpul polymer sights on the front. They can melt or warp from the head. Make sure you only get metal gas-block iron sights for the front. I ended up sinking about $180 on some Midwest Industries iron sights and they work great.

  7. The screws on the gas key are staked. I don't believe the bolt is mil spec but you may need to check the DPMS website. I've shot the heck out of mine and haven't have any major issues other than 1 FTE.

  8. I picked one of these up about two years ago and took my time adding some minor add-ons like Magpul furniture and some Midwest Industries sights. I am happy to report that after 500 rounds it is still shooting strong but I did have 1 FTE when I was shooting some God awful TULammo with the original steel mags that came with it. When I was shooting that same steel case ammo out of my P-Mags I had no issues. Great gun and is great for getting into the AR platform.

  9. none of the base dpms rifles do…nor us milspec parts… anything….. 12000 rd gun…. buy a daniel defense …. or rock river…. thats the best for the money….

  10. Three things right off the bat. First, nice rifle. Congrats. DPMS makes a decent rifle. Second, You can always shoot .223 in a 5.56mm. You should NOT shoot 5.56mm in a .223 only rifle. There are many websites that talk about why. Third, ANY of those magazines that you don't want, or anyone listening to you that they don't want, feel free to send them to me. I'll gladly take them off your hands. Thx..great video. Again, nice rifle. Stay safe and shoot straight. PS-Take a look at my AR build vids
