After having watched a video of an open carry advocate conducting a “second amendment audit” by carrying an AR pistol in public in Edmond Oklahoma, I felt compelled to offer this commentary.

  1. im gonna go ahead and say it before anybody else lol if you had of been black you would have been dead for reals glad that they didn't kill ya bro kudos to you.

  2. I am a huge LE supporter, I believe most mean good. That said, it is a fact that most officer join the LE force for a veriety of easons. The most commen are: it is cool to be a cop, the desire for empowerment, and a very decent pay for looking cool and feeling empowered. The least common reason is the sensere desire to serve the community they work FOR. Therefore, very few officers actually take the time to educate themselves on laws that are in place to enforce and laws that are in place which protect citizens who are conducting themselves in a legal manner.

  3. Stupid gun laws – in this case NFA, etc. – causes this kind of confusion.
Having said that, as "gun guys", we know the difference between the AR pistol and the AR rifle, but the differences are minor (and again, stupid). For this reason, I would not pull this "NRA audit" stuff as it is putting innocent people at risk. It would be far better if we could all carry whatever we choose without causing any concern by anyone, but that is not the world we live in today.

  4. I agree with you. But I think that police officers should take enough interest in guns, since they have a lot to do with them, that they would self educate themselves on the types of guns that are out there.

  5. I'm all about the 2 amendment but walking into a park with that is just stupid , if I was a baseball game and I saw that I would have taken him down you can't do that today the way they are iv been around guns my whole life and I would said that was a rifle, for me if it has rifling it's a rifle

  6. this is how stupid cops end up shooting kids with airsoft toy guns this is 100% good thing or maybe he should just set up an auto call machine that contacts the PD every day at 5 am that says " hi this is a concerned citizen we have guns fake, toy and real, do not shoot us." The more cops get sent out on a call like this the more they might think before they keep shooting 12-year-old kids with toys. The rule needs to be, you do not fire until fired upon. and if you don't like it don't be a cop. we do not need untrained, trigger happy cowards running around.

  7. So, silly question about the officers stand point. What the heck does it matter if it is a pistol or rifle, both sling bullets… soooooo if they think the pistol is a non threat to open carry over a rifle they are dead wrong. 90% of gun crime is with a pistol not a rifle. So I am confused about this whole reaction. Whether it is legal to open carry a pistol or rifle is beside the point.

  8. I agree with you some, I personally don't think he should be bothered. Like Tim Kennedy says love in dangerous freedom it beats peaceful slavery. But in the times we live in I see why the cops responded the way they did, be nice if they was more educated on the situation. If the cops ram up shooting at this guy and miss and hit another innocent bystander then it would have been the cops fault

  9. I think the only good that came out of this was showcasing the fact that law enforcement is widely illiterate in firearm law. Other than that, I think the guy is a kook.

  10. I personally don't see the point of open carrying. Unless you're going to the range I don't see the need for your rifle to be out. Concealed carry is a different story.
