There have been “takedown” variations of the AR-15, but the disassembly procedure is usually a bit cumbersome – until now. Paul Levy takes us on a walkaround of the “FoldAR” upper receiver. The FoldAR unlocks and folds just ahead of the receiver for storage or unobtrusive transport. Through a carefully engineered locking mechanism, the FoldAR thunks open and closed with the reassuring solidity of a German luxury car door. It absolutely will not come loose when you’re shooting AND it retains zero! The FoldAR team ran it through multiple fold/unfold cycles and tested it on scientific measuring equipment at Texas A&M University to find NO noticeable changes in point of impact. An extended M-LOK® handguard, free-floated barrel, and continuous topside Picatinny rail are standard equipment. Mates to any standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver.

  1. This thing looks well made and is pretty cool but completely useless based on how it latches and unlatches alone. Why would you want a folding rifle that you have to use a tool or round to fold it..did you see how it looked just trying to latch it..complete waste of a 1000 bucks. And as far as packing in the woods, anything you were after or was after you would have to wait while you fumble around trying to latch it under pressure. Btw, i unpin my ar pistols and they fit right in a back pack no problem

  2. LMFAO!!! Yeah let's just completely open the chamber to all the elements on a firearm that has a very checked history of severe problems with dirty chambers! Ah Hahahaha

  3. This just proves my point that people obsess over having to get exact torque specs on replacing barrels on AR's. 35-80 lbs is a huge spread. Blows the "got have torque wrench at 90°" to get correct spec out also. 15 years building them with German specs lol. Gudentight.
Not hating, I think its kinda cool.
