Solid review as usual, and admittedly a snazzy little gun there, but not really my speed [I'm going to evangelize here, bare with me]. I've never really been a fan of 9mm/.45 (etc) ARs or "pistol caliber carbines" in general, especially when us regular guys are limited to the neutered versions (lacking a fun switch).
Β From my time in the service, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that if I'm going to be using something that's 90% of a rifle, I might as well be shooting a rifle round. A shoulder-fired weapon with the traditional rifle layout that's essentially a glorified pistol, has always seemed a waste of size and space, to me (now,Β when I was deployed to the fleet, there were some FAST guys who were issued MP5s, and I will admit those were sweet little shooters, but for any real work I'd still much rather have something like a MK18). It may have then a good idea until the late 80s/early 90s, before the rifle caliber SBR really came into its maturity, but now I kind of asked myself – what's the point?
In my (very unscientific) opinion, if I'm shooting a pistol round, I want to be using a weapon that makes optimal use of the one beneficial characteristic something like that has over anything else – compactness and small size. For me, that means something where the magazine either goes in the pistol grip, or makes use of that short overall length in a novel way, like the FN P90. But a 9 mm firearm that has a separate magwell, stock, long handguard, excetera just seems like it's too big for its britches (and AR type versions are doubly bad, because you can't even fold the stock). So, if I was ever doing undercover work or dignitary protection – and you should be happy to know they would never trust me with a gig like that – I'd much rather have something like a P90, an HK MP7, or a B&T MP9. But, I always feel that I'm alone in this opinion, because the "PCC" craze does not seem to be dying anytime soon.
Anyway, if you've read this far, you're a trooper. π
Nice review even with the camera malfunction. But I think a full size or compact size 9mm pistol with RDS on it will be just as accurate or better. That firearm is just to short for that kind of money. I would rather have a regular pistol. Thanks for the video.
Thanks HR, always enjoy you videos. I always believed in the ol saying "You get what you pay for". I've looked at a couple short barreled AR platform "pistols" and they where, in my opinion, very much on the lower end of the quality scale. I'm going to take a look at this one in 45ACP. Now that we can get sound suppressors here in our state again I'd like own one for home protection and just plain fun. Good review and I'm very happy folks are recognizing your abilities and honesty.
Thanks Hr I didnβt realize that was that short of barrel your so kind to respond. I know with the right ammo I can reach out effectively to 100 to 150 yards with the Keltec . Banshee is a really cool firearm , but a bit pricey.
Great video! I totally agree about adding a sight for the cost of the pistol. Nice trigger control when dealing with the dual adversaries. Not to mention the βhat trickβ! You should add the hat trick to your videos along with the tack driver scenario. Thanks for the great review!
You're absolutely right, we should expect more for the price. What they don't realize is that their high price makes it easy for others to undercut them easily and still make a decent profit. It makes it attractive for others to get into the niche also. Keep up the good work H.R.
I don't know why manufacturers don't offer an option for a K-2 grip. They really improve the ergonomics of an AR pistol. Slap an AFG up front, and you have a fairly comfortable shooter. I loved the laugh when you hit the tack. Good review.
Thanks for another great, 2 part review, Brother, well done! I love the addition of the little hats to the "water bottle" desperadoes, LOL! Semper Fi, TreeTop
Really enjoyed this one. In addition to adding iron sights I would add a sling or an angled for grip especially with barrels shorter than 10.5 inches. The reason is practical. A former co-worker was training with a non-suppressed MP5. He moved his support hand too far forward and blew the tip of his left index finger off. I can see this happening with the shorter Banshee. Thanks again. Blessings brother
I really, really like the Banshee…but the price tag. I have a Freedom Ordnance fx9 and could buy three total for one Banshee. Howard, thanks for the video.
I Like The Banshee I Wish it Was In 45acp Cal Then Iβd Add a Suppressor To It πππΌ Great Shooting HrFunk the Accuracy Was Impressive To Say The Least π
Statement: WAY COOL! Questions: #1: LRHO- did it work? #2: Glock mags! WAY COOL! But…..will it function with G26 mags? LRHO with them? #3: From a law enforcement/hi position dignitary security detail perspective, please comment on the βone magazine fits AR pistol and regular duty gunβ issue. #4: What weight ammo were you using and, do you have a suppressor of that threading that you could try? Subsequent question would be….how quiet is it then? And, that whole bottle top thing….our son Isaiah did that with a pickle jar once and never broke glass! Hahahaha He was 9 or 10! My friend, as always, love the videos and, I know my questions were not what your evaluation was about but, inquiring minds need to know! God bless!
I think this is a cool gun, especially for people who don't shoot a conventional pistol all that well, which is to say most folks. But to be honest, I'm still leery of these "pistols" with their "arm braces" which most people are clearly firing from the shoulder these days under a clarification letter issued by BATFE in 2017.
I know that the BATFE "clarified" their position on this that firing such guns did not "redesign" them into short barreled rifles that required registration and a tax stamp. But I'm also aware that in spite of this, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio charged a resident of that state, Kelland Jamieson Wright with two felony counts, one for producing an SBR, and the other for unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm, over a "pistol" that had an "arm brace" on it. They filed it in April of 2018, and the case continued until October 16, 2018 when a jury acquitted Wright on both counts. The case citation is U.S. v. Wright, 3:18-cr-00162-JGC-1.
It is noteworthy that the United States Government sought to exclude the BATFE clarification letter on arm braces from the evidence that the defendant could use to exculpate himself. Further, they used a BATFE employee as an expert witness to claim that by using the brace at the shoulder, the defendant had produced an SBR that required registration. The defense used a former BATFE agent as an expert to testify that the Bureau had in fact said this was authorized. Wright had to post bond, had all of his other firearms seized, and had to turn in his passport for the duration of the case, not to mention spending thousands of dollars for a defense. Keep in mind that this criminal case was active until less than six months ago. Fortunately the defendant prevailed, but at great cost. So as much as I like the idea of a light, handy weapon that can be fired from the shoulder, that is treated in law as a standard pistol, I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk on this type of "pistol" just yet. Perhaps I am being overly cautious.
That said, this was a great review of the gun. Congratulations on your new relationship with the firearms marketer.

I can see that now ! From your evaluation the pistol is well made and accurate ( via tack driver performance with you behind it of course) K

it looks like a good firearm just not $1500.00 good

Thanks for the review and the correction. You're one of the most honest reviews on my feed!
great video thank you

I saw the notice, but assumed it was a premier announcement. Now I want one! Great tack driving, Chief!
What is the effect range of the weapon Hr ? Is it similar to keltec sub 2000 . K
Enjoyed the video as always, good shooting also…the hat incident was classic!
Since the Banshee is a pistol what are the laws regarding shouldering the firearm? I had heard the ATF had ruled it was ok to do so.
Show off. You just had to knock that guys hat off before you popped him, didnβt you π€£

SIR. Thank You I'm very HONORED. Great shot.
SEMPER Fi.
Awesome vid
Looks like this might even be a better choice the the Keltec sub 2000 for a back pack firearm?
While firearms like that are not my cup of tea, I have to admit it looks to be a hoot at the range. Darn handy against those evil doers and tacks.
In true western fashion, blew the hat right off the desperado on the right! π
