When it comes to red dot placement on an AR-15 there are a lot of things to consider. There are even more things to consider when putting a micro red dot with a 65 moa reticle on your rifle.

Thanks for the video, I appreciate the information
Dude, speed kills!
I dont take gun advice from a guy who has a gadsen flag and a California compliant ar.
I place mine all the way on the end of my rail where my front buis normally go. Iβm getting submoa accuracy.
Totally off subject but that AR is freakin sick!!! Lol i love that stock & buffer tube!!! And that rail being so open with a stainless fluted barrel duuuuuude…. NICE!!!
Great info. Covered where any why pretty well in my opinion. Morris4069 seems like one of those guys that if you don't put it together for him, he feels that you didn't teach him anything.

So how about a further up reflex on a pistol carbine conversation kit? Using the holosun hs507 on your pistol you push your pistol further out in front of you. But when using a kit you now have a stock, so would pushing the optic more forward help with this?
I'm asking because I don't have these "pieces" yet, but when I move back to the States I was wanting to start my own Glock carbine. Thank you and great video.
I got the same setup. I love my MH1 optic. But I wasnβt sure exactly on my placement. I see you have yours 2β more back from my position. For the MH1. Whatβs your opinion on the placement for the MH1
I really enjoy watching your reviews! I'm using a Holoson 510c reflex sight that has a 32mm viewing window. Do you think I can have similar flexibility in mounting position as the Hartman?
There is no more space to mount the rear backup sight on the weapon after installing the HARTMAN MH1 sight.
Thanks man, gave me a little more understanding of what I want as for my field of view, great quick tip, for me anyway.
Hey bro I love your channel. I come here first for most of my curiosities on any firearm.
I wanted to ask (i hope I haven't missed it on YOUR channel) if you could possibly do a red dot calibration for let's say 100 yards. Thanks bro!!! Keep giving us this awesome knowledge!!
Excellent quick tip! I've been running a lot of EO Techs lately and I can confirm your theory.
Have you reviewed the Hartman MH1 optic shown in this video? If so can I have the link. Thanks
I would add that you should ensure you leave room on the back of your rail for your rear BUIS, and ideally ensure you can co-witness your optic to your irons.
Solid advice, as always. I have my Holosun mounted fairly forward to accommodate a magnifier. The position is great with or without it.
I usually place themΒ about center where I'd have a scope. That's what feels comfortable for me. Nice vid!
Great vid man, as always
how do you like your Hartman optic? any plans for a video on it?
rule of thumb is, the larger the field of view, the farther you can place it out on the rail…smaller not so much!
rifles are like cars, to each his own.
Some good tips as I always dig your vids as the info is always very useful…Good stuff…
It basically boils down to personal preference in addition to many other variables. The rhetoric of "mount as far forward as possible" doesn't work for everyone regardless of the red dot optic.
dude I can't watch your eyes jumping like that quit looking back and forth at the screen and the lense its giving me a headach
Great video and tips
Good points,…Thanks.
A red dot closer to the eye lets you see more through your optic further away not so much and your eyes will fight to what your seeing. Closer is 9 out of 10 times better for everyone….once they try it firat and realize the advantages
Good video. I havent seen it explained this way yet.
Whats a red dot?
Sorry bro but this vid is completely useless!
I was wanting to hear a bit more as to where to place my reddot and why to put it in this spot or that spot with some examples.
Good stuff!
darn.. i have to reschedule next weeks vid.. same topic and similar title.. lol'
Great info!
Held something up to my eye, now I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other. What the hell did do wrong?
Exactly why I run my MRO further down the rail than most . That's how "I" like it !
Exactly why I like to run red dots as far back as possible. Wider field of view and slightly less perceived wobble from my movement. I see everyone mounting their dots all the way forward on their receivers. To each their own.
great video you make me think about where to place my Red Dot now
what kind of Optic would you put on the Mossberg 590 shock wave .
OUTSTANDING information once again. π«πΊπΈπ«πΊπΈπ«πΊπΈ
When I shoot my guns, I put the cross hairs or the dot on the target and then confidently squeeze the trigger. But that's just me, do what works for you guys π
