I did forget to mention the muzzle device! The cheapest muzzle device for the 50 Beowulf which is threaded in 49/64-20 that I’ve found is about $50!

  1. You need to remove the dust cover, it states on Anderson arms not the put a dust cover on the upper because it causes the issue you are talking about. Remove the dust cover an retry it.

  2. I found Blemished stripped lowers from TNarmsCO for $30, Lower parts kit for $35 on ebay and buffer assembly with carbine stock for $30 on ar15part so I'm starting off well. Not sure how well these polymer receivers hold up. I really am curious if anyone knows where to find a pistol length barrel (and i guess the gas tube etc) maybe like an 8-12" anyone know if they make these?

  3. Nice thing now you can get an Anderson big bore stripped upper for around 50 bucks so you don’t have to do any modification to the upper . for anybody who’s thinking about building one of these

  4. Anderson Manufacturing makes a 458 SOCOM stripped upper reciever for $77 on Brownells. I understood this would work without milling the ejection port. Have you ever heard of this? You said you bought a standard upper so I'm guessing you have a 223/556?

  5. Also In the process of buying parts for Beowulf. I went with a Davidson Defense stripped slick upper and since having the ejection port milled going to have it side charged. I am also waiting for the next sale of 12.7x42mm AR stoner barrel. Will a 10” handguard cover the gas block or do I have to go with a 12”. Thanks project looks good
