This. Build. Sucked. A. Lot. In all reality, most things you have to work, and struggle, and work and struggle for are the most memorable. This video showcases just that. Beard and I suffered through 2 years of college together and no story from college even comes close to this build. Driving to 3 cities and 3 stores to find a wrench we didn’t even need, planning this for the last 6 months and having the birdcage from Bear Creek Arsenal not work, well, that’s life! Roll with the punches and define yourself by how you deal with your problems, not how your problems define you. Let us know what you think in the comments below! What tacticool bullshit should we hang off this thing?

  1. Your supposed to put the torque wrench at a 90 degree angle to the magpull wrench. If you don’t your foot pounds will be off. It’s a leverage thing. Hard to explain but easy to do.

  2. Go to your local hardware store and get a high crown, black oxide lock washer of the correct size in stead of a crush washer. They work great , are re-useable and are almost free. I use them a lot . I'm glad it all worked out in the end . There was no way for you to know that hand guard wouldn't work before hand , but obviously that gas block is a chunky monkey. Trust me , the next one will be a lot smoother.
