EOtech is a line of holographic weapon sights that are primarily in use by our military and LE personnel but civilians are also able to buy them. They are the best holographic weapon sights on the weapon optics market today. Aimpoint is probably the direct competitor for EOtech as they are both non-magnified red dot optics and both have their pros and cons. I prefer EOtech and I have shot a gun equipped with an Aimpoint and they are also very good red dots, EOtech is just my personal preference. The 512 in particular is quite popular because it takes the all too common AA batteries which can be found anywhere.
