Reviewing the brand new FIRST FOCAL PLANE FX1000 illuminated scope from Nikon.

Great glass and a great warranty. Hard to find a FFP scope this nice for this price.

  1. I have decided on this model to purchase. It is my first scope. I like the display which is offered on the NON-illuminated version better but I like the illumination. So I am trying to decide if its worth spending the extra $200 for the illumination version?

  2. Hey, great video! The Parallax adjustment only goes down to 50 yards. What does the image look like at 25 yards? Worried it might not be as clear as I like.

  3. So I've already decided that I am going to return my AR500 plates and carrier. Everything arrived earlier than they said it would, which was awesome. And everything appears to be very well made. The plates are pretty chunky, but the weight is not the problem. The whole assembly only adds 20lbs, which is less than 10% of my body weight. Not bad at all. It is noticeable when I am putting it on, but I barely notice the weight when I am wearing everything and it has been tightened up. My problem is that this setup is NOT concealable, despite what they say on the site/YouTube video. No matter how I adjust the straps, the plates still stick out to a significant degree. The plate carrier sticks out 2" away from my body in the front, and makes me look like a Greyhound (the dog, not the bus line.) And that is with the carrier adjusted so tight that it starts to interfere with my breathing. And the back plate sticks out even when standing. When I bend over, it looks like I have a turtle shell on my back. So I think I might try out one of the custom-fitted carriers and plate combos from Stealth Armor. It will be much more expensive at around $1500, but the flexible plates should make it much easier to conceal everything. And I believe the armor extends down to your waist, which will get rid of the "ribs sticking out like a Greyhound" look.
