Well, there are a few things that sort of tell you the rifle is shooting rimfire. The sound, the size of the shells benig ejected (you can actually see the rounds inside the transparent magazine and they are clearly not 5.56/.223, but the biggest give-away is probably in the title.
Yes, I am sure the magazine is perfectly legal, haha!
Either your weapon has rim fire ammunition, or that is an illegal magazine!

Nope, none at all. I clean my rifle religiously though. Not sure how well it would do to if I neglected it, haha! Also, I got the stainless CMMG kit, makes cleaning a helluva lot easier.
