I think an AR Pistol might be best served shooting 357 magnums. Whats the point of changing the platform just to shoot what a handgun shoots? Make it shoot something only a rifle shoots like the old lever action rifles.

Glock 17/19/26 with 33rd magazine. Much more concealable. Pistol caliber carbines are fun but offer no advantage over a pistol for serious self defense applications. Even a rifle caliber pistol effectiveness is limited by the short barrel and lack of a stock.

If the only argument in owning an AR-15 9mm pistol is because of maneuverability, then own a 9mm handgun. A handgun is much lighter and smaller than a bulkier AR-15 pistol. I can understand if you said that you liked the maneuverability of a 5.56 AR15 pistol, but that's not the case here. It's just a 9mm on an AR15 platform, it's not practical.

An ar pistol is a luxury. .if u can buy one or build one do it…..if u cant afford one . ..save up……a decent ar pistol is around $1000 small price to pay realy ….power..functionality..and realy intimidating looking….plus multiple attacment points make it a no brainer if u want multiple accessorys on your home defense weapon.

I just love my Carbon 15 pistol. A ton of firepower in such a small package. Loads of fun. Every law abiding American should have one. I sleep like a baby at night knowing it is nearby for home defense. …ZZZZZZZZ

Saw one of these at a gun store yesterday. Just looks kind of weird to me. I don't really get why you'd really want this besides for fun. Just get a normal pistol for home defense if the reason you're getting it is for home defense. Also, as far as AR's go I think an M4 is short enough anyway.

I always wanted a home defense weapon, and the more research I do, the less I'm looking forward to a Desert Eagle and more for something like this. The Desert Eagle .50AE is very intimidating, but so is looking down the sight of an AR-15 Pistol

Performance comparison to the .45 ACP is based upon the 300 AAC Blackout using a 220 grain .308 projectile, loaded subsonic, at about 1000 ft/sec. Naturally, supersonic rounds, at more than 2,000 ft/sec, would have twice the range and power, and a flatter trajectory.

The 300 AAC Blackout would be a superb round to use in an AR pistol.

Performance from a 9.5 inch barrel is comparable in knockdown power to the .45 ACP, but is useful and accurate out to about 200 yards, far beyond normal pistol range. Uses the same magazines, bolt, and bolt carrier as the standard 5.56/.223. In fact, 300 AAC Blackout cartridge cases can easily be made from 5.56/.223 brass. Only the barrel changes.

Lots of advantages using this round for a compact PDW.
