The Xtreme Performance Bolt (XPB) carrier group is a modern upgrade in the guts of the gun. These new internals come coated in the newest hotness, DLC, or Diamond Like Coating to make the bolt run smoothly and clean up faster. The bolt features precision machining, proper staking on the gas key, lightening cuts in several locations, and beveled lugs to increase efficiency. We took this bolt out and ran it in several different guns, in 5.56×45 and 300 blk, both suppressed and unsuppressed with several different silencers.

  1. Great video just had a question on what’s your recommendation for building a dmr/spr rifle, such as barrel length, twist rate and stainless steel or 4150 cmv? Also what would be better 223 wylde or 556.

  2. This is exactly why I am buying one. I went to the web site and they have there blem ones for $139.00. They say there is 0 performance issues and they will perform as well as the ones that are finished correctly. I think I will try one, I have bought slightly blemished things in the past and in some cases you can't even find anything wrong.

  3. It’s a weak extractor spring. Add an o ring to the extractor spring (which oddly doesn’t come with the bolt from Sharps). After I added the oring it eliminated the problem permanently.

  4. Step 1. acquire a blank bolt carrier, preferably nibx coated
Step 2. attach a Pof-Usa roller cam pin kit and stake it with a brownells staking tool
Step 3. place in the Sharps reliabolt with a standard firing pin but using a KNS Perma-pin firing pin retainer
    Step 4. ?????
Step 5. Eugene Stoner punches a hole out of his grave to give a thumbs up

  5. It failed in the pistol because it was so super overgassed that the bolt was overriding the round.

If I had to take a guess as to why, sharps claims it has reduced friction due to its better balance and coatings leading to a faster cyclic rate. And causing failures

  6. Can anyone tell me why this bolt will cycle with my rear pin open (i can charge the weapon). But if i push in the pin i can not get the charging handle back.
This is happening in my Core 15 scout.
