I hear the marketing of .224 tending to fall within the confines of competition and small/medium hunting, but I'm seeing the potential of this as a war caliber. Quick follow-ups, spotting your own shots, less ammo weight per quanity than 6.5/.308. Sure, it may fall short of the energy of the 6.5 , but the energy it's putting out at a very long distance is plenty to be lethal. Obviously, I've never tested this, but it's not hard to imagine with the data sets out there.
