EXCLUSIVE IN-DEPTH Samson Evolution EX 9 Rail Install on AR-15, documenting step-by-step instructions.
Installation of a Samson Evolution EX 9 inch modular rail system onto an AR-15 upper receiver group while retaining the standard A2 Front Sight Post and gas block. This aluminum modular rail system allows attachment of rail sections, weighs only 9 ounces, and has a cutout on the forward end of the tune for a piston gas block or standard FSP. I have not seen installation of this rail on a traditional upper receiver with the A2 FSP yet. This is a great rail which is affordable, light, and very strong.

Are the mounting holes on the side M-LOK compatible?
Would u consider it for a shft build?
Hmm thinking about getting the 7 inch one to go on my carbine length gas system and keep the FSB as well. I love an A2 sight also.
Nicely done fella
The wire hanger was a gr3at idea.
Hey where can I get one of those rails from
I have the same rail and love it. Real light.
I meant the handguard not stock. My bad.
Have you had any problems with the stock sliding off?
Awesome video. Â I also wanted to get the EX version for my direct impingement system. Â This helps a lot
thanks for the video
I know that this is a stupid question to ask but would this fit on a Western arms gas blow back airsoft gun. I know it is for a real AR-15 but I just need to know
Great video! Just what I needed to see to convince me to get a Samson Evo EX 9!
Okay just ordered this rail. Â Thanks for the install video!
Great tutorial!!! Â I was just looking into putting one of the 7" EX rails on my Carbine gas AR. Â Did you have to shave the FSB for fitment??? Â Or was that just something you did for cosmetics???
In the future get someone to help you with the camera. Â It would be nice to see what you're doing when you lift the weapon or barrel up out of the camera view. Â Other than that, the video was informative.Â
Very good..
that is one sweet rail. Â thanks for the video.
Really well-done video. Nice job.
Thanks man, I'm glad it helped and have fun with your build!
Hey, just wanted to say great video. Followed this process and just installed one of these rails on my rifle last night. Only difference was I cut off the delta ring instead of removing the barrel from the receiver. Great trick with the wire hanger! Really like having the free float rail while retaining the FSP.
It shouldn't. Although if you are wanting to add that many rail sections, getting a standard quad rail may be a better option.
if you were to add a rail section at 3,6, and 9 o clock right next to the FSB would the inside piece come into contact with it?
Yes, there is a small piece of wood trim underneath the barrel. It works perfect for things like this because the groove in the wood trim is just about the same size as the barrel and it holds it pretty well.
I got it from the Samson website. It is not offered a lot of places.
Is there anything under the barrel to support the gas block when you are tapping the pins in?
You may have to when you initially install the rail, but it should be easy to slide back on once the rail is secured.
yes it is. It's very low profile and works great.
Is that QD swivel attachment made by samson too?
yes they must be removed to fit under the rail.
do you have to take off the bayonet lug and sling mount?
Thanks alot! I hope you LIKED the video!
great vid!
Sounds nice. If you decide to upgrade that Olympic rail, either the Samson or the JP would work. Obviously you can see how the Samson would fit from the video, JP has a rail extension that would leave a cutout on the top rail for your flip up sight and the extension goes forward of the front sight to keep the rail continuous and completely cover the gas block and gas tube. Thanks for the comments and please like the video!! I appreciate it!
I've got a it built, but I'm using an antique Olympic rifle length quad rail from before I knew better. I also want to keep my YHM flip up sight/gas block. I prefer the sight on the barrel vs the tube to minimize poi shift under sling tension or from the bipod since this is more of a precision build. Good video BTW.
HAHA. It really is a solid rail and was perfect for this rifle. I am building an MK12 as well right now and will be using a JP 15.5 free float rail for that upper. I think the JP rails are just phenomenal. It may be just what you need. If you need one, let me know, I'll hook you up with my sponsor.
I'm thinking I need the 12"-EX on my MK12. I'm telling my wife is YOUR FAULT!
Thanks alot bud.
Nice lookin rifle
