Mounting an optic in scope rings (EOTech Vudu 1-6x in a Geissele mount) Sharp Shooting, Spokane WA

I dropped a steel mag on my foot in my living room the other day and thought that was how it was all going to end for sure.

I bought a Geissele Super Precision SOPMOD mount for my Vortex Razor during their memorial day sale and got it all mounted up, leveled, and torqued, then I checked out the instructions when I was done because that's how I roll. I noticed they say not to use blue Loctite (242) on the ring screws.

Y tho? I use blue Loctite on precision rifle rings and bases, handguard nuts, QD mounts, and anything mounted to a rail and I've never had any problems. Is it important or is Geissele just trying to hurt me?

Getting a trij 1-8 accupower and geisselle mount tomorrow to go on an all black sig virtus. Looking forward to simultaneously blowing my load and my mind as you did at 7:35. I'm as hard as a diamond in an ice storm right now

If you had to pick between a geissele mk14 and a BCM MCMR…?

those cheap buble levels are terrible, turn them around and you will see they read different. i had to buy the starrett pocket level to get correct readings

I bought a rifle to operate as a DMR. I chose a Savage MSR 10 Long Range in 308. I plan on using a Bushnell lrts fde, 3×12×44. Ring wise I'll probably be going with vortex precision match rings. What are your views on this setup for the aforementioned application?

GT: Did you like the height of your scope mounted on the Bren 805 with the MSR style one piece mount you chose? I ordered a Bren and have wondered if it is necessary to use MSR height rings/mount since the stock is at an angle (eye is closer to the same level as the rail), whereas an AR15 tube is straight. Thoughts?

I personally use a Starett adjustable parallel and level it off the flat base on the scope and top of the scope mount. I don’t think it’s 100% perfect, but I think it’s better than bubble levels.

I've had mine for 4 months now. Just put it on my Noveske N4 gen 3 build, and it is awesome. But most importantly it looks COOL! Can't wait to see the review.

Take string. Put small weight on one end. Hang from ceiling. Wait until it stops moving. Line crosshairs up with string since gravity and physics make it straight and tighten boots. Whalla. Done.

It doesn't matter if the reticle is level with the gun. Just that it's level when fired.

What is your opinion on the vortex viper? As far as standing dependability if used on a REECE style setup?

nick has really nice eyes…. can you send me the stickers in the EOTech box??? I put them on my firearms to level up their accuracy.

Interested to see how the scope mount nut affects the charging handle. Not the optics fault, but that was something that always bothered me when I ran an EOTech on my Scar, really any mount that protrudes into the range of motion your hand takes when pulling a charging handle.
