I’m using a Mil-Spec Palmetto State Armory receiver extension kit( the actual name is PSA Classic Premium M4 Stock Kit)
I also get asked a lot about what the difference is between mil-spec and commercial buffer tubes, click the following link for a diagram of the two:

Excellent instruction. No other video talks about making sure the buffer tube is aligned and not crooked so the stock does not cant. Wish I could see which detent end is correct. In fact I wish someone made a video on detents and which ends go in first , so they are not backwards. Great video though!
Damn buddy, look at those little twig arms, try lifting weights. Get pumped up, don’t be so weak your entire life.
Bro, thank you. Im a noob here, new to this hobby and flipped through a lot of videos. You made is easy to follow directions. Nice palmetto buffer tube btw. I’m workin with a Frankenstein over here. Magpul stock, Anderson mftrg. Lower, and some other brand for the buffer tube assembly. Anyways thanks again.
u need to hit the gym bro
I bet you have really done something with your self. You had yoiur shit together in 13 .
Very helpful thank you. In boxing ends at 3:30
Very good camera work for us to see. Thanks.
You forgot to stake the castle nut. Otherwise, Great job
Good video But do you have Any Idea Why this "So Called" Mil Spec 6 position Stock Won't go on with out using a thin punch through the Top Hole to push down the lock pin to mount but as far as I can see No Way to Remove the Stock from the Tube?
preshiate it man
Pretty good vid…just a couple of things: 1) A bit easier to first Install the buffer tube far enough to hold the buffer retaining pin & spring in place, THEN drop in the take-down detent pin & spring and secure them. 2) If at all possible, cut AWAY from yourself when slicing open a package, or using a knife, in general (ask a Scoutmaster) ;-).
very helpful thanks for posting. 🙂
Cheers mate!
No Aeroshell 33 MS on the buffer tube threads?…
Hello, I'm having a problem. I just bought an AR-15 (haven't even shot it yet). I decided to clean it and get familiar with breaking it down and reassembling it. I noticed that the retention pin is marring the buffer assemble (the piece that go's in the action spring)
great video, I was pulling my hair out, trying to figure where those springs go, I'm ready to give it another try
Millennial BOYS, you''''d be surprised, shocked to learn what other things MEN will do with the same tools mentioned. If a trip to say….even "Harbor freight" is too daunting for you….stay home in your mothers basement.
every YouTube AR build vid 'yeah you have to buy a set of 500 specialized punches, a set of unobtanium hammers, and a couple different quantum jigs to build this thing' so far I have put everything in my lower with no more than tape, channel locks, and a screwdriver and everything is flush and went i. fine. I'm only building one I'm not spending hundreds in tools lol
So you can put a mil spec buffer tube on a commercial lower receiver.
Just what I was looking for. I need to replace mine after yesterday's shooting, and this shows me how to do it. Thanks much!
Thanks so much…I was having trouble getting mine installed.. Great video man.
Great vid for someone like myself just learning to do assembly and other building for my rifle. Should make exchanging one much simpler now
new guy here: any issues with breaking your lower at the area between the buffer tube and the handguard. I understand that they are the weak point of all lowers, and develop cracks after good use. Im wondering if the torque applied to the castle nut would carry through and break the lower at that spot.  great vid, btw.
staked the buffer tube castle nut
