  1. if you buy a can of break free powder blaster and spray it you will also get it nice and clean without taking it all apart. Break free works fine I have around 6000 rounds through mine it works perfect and you dont have to beat the crap out of it

  2. I haven't seen a good field strip video yet. I was looking for my brother. I have seen several mistakes. 1. You don't need to remove the outer barrel. 2. Don't hammer anything! If u loosen but not totally remove suppressor, and pull charging handle; the most u would need is to tap the suppressor towards the upper housing with your hand. Then fully remove suppressor and pull out bolt group with barrel. 3.Carefully " it's under mild pressure " Remove the big Allen plug that holds the spring. The spring has a plunger on each end. 4. That's it the bolt will move freely and fully back, making it extremely easer to clean. 5. Further disassembly isn't necessarily and it's a pain to match the right screws and install the tiny spring and plunger that will go flying.

  3. 10,000 rounds and ruptured barrel so thin guess my kids lucky it lasted that long. It is a fun little plinker just not built to be! Called manufacturer lifetime warenty my ass . Customer service terrible.

  4. I tried to tap out the bolt carrier on my Colt M4 Ops .22 the way I have seen it done on this and other videos. No matter how hard I tap, it won't budge (I made sure the charging handle lock was disengaged). Mine is only a month old and the videos I have seen were several years old. Did they change something; is there an extra step with the newer generation? Any help would be appreciated!

  5. I would never buy this gun I have a cmmg and a NEA 15 dedicated .22lr rifle you clean them exactly the same as a 5.56 M4/AR15 looks as if it was thought out by a monkey/ape with cleaning not in mind bad internal design in my mind.

  6. I would like to thank you for this video tathuen! It helped me tremendously today! Last week I was cleaning my Colt M4 22lr after coming back from the range and not realizing I pushed the barrel into the firing chamber and low and behold the little spring popped out of place 🙁 Thanks to your video I was able to get it back in place with no problem because of your instructions. I also was able to give it a thorough cleaning 🙂 Thanks again on your video!

  7. Thank you SammColt. I agree with you, my real point in the first place was only meant as a warning for the uninformed. There will be some moron out there who will watch this video and take apart his brand new rifle, fuck it up and then be pissed off when they refuse a warranty repair. Then Mr tathuen will have a message box full of hate mail.

  8. Yes. Read the manual. It states the following:
    "16 Warranty
    LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
This product is warranted to the original owner for 1 year form date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship and is not transferable."
If you shoot this rifle a lot and after 1 years then there will so much crap in the mechanism that it will need to be disassembled fully for cleaning.

  9. yes…the ball bearing in the colt m4 .22 upper receiver acts as a detent to hold the pin in place…looking at mine right now…and i can see that the ball sticks about 1/16th of an inch through the pivot pin holes and catches the recess on the pin…sort of like an AR but instead of the holding it from the edge of the pin it catches the center.

  10. Thank you, this had been one of the most helpfull videos I have seen on youtube. Colt dosent trust the owners to take the gun apart I quess. My gun was so dirty and I could not properly clean it. Thanks again.

  11. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but it appears that it is no necessary to bang the rear pin bracket to get the receiver/barrel assembly out. At least after the first time I did that, I noticed that the catch on the bolt handle is pretty much the only thing keeping the assembly in after the muzzle break is removed. Simply holding the catch down allows it to slide apart quite easily.

Give it a try, and maybe consider revising this video.

  12. @mrwill2828 That's a very good question. No, the charging handle is not the same as a standard AR as the .22LR is a shorter case thus the charging handle is shorter to work the action. Other things that are not the same as AR are:
    * pistol grip has different hole and slot
    * flash suppressor has different thread
    * take down pins are different
    * you've probably notice that the chamber cover is not same and doesn't really work
    * bolt release is fake, thus not the same
    * mags are not CMMG standard

  13. @FullyLoadedMag No complaints from anyone yet. I've fully disassembled many times for cleaning and shot thousands of rounds with no problem other than called Umarex to replace the plastic buffer, which they sent me for free. This could of been caused by no enough tension on the recoil spring as the hex nut was flush with the hole I am using Federal bulk ammo with 1260 fps 36 gr. Since then I tightened the tension to be 1/4 inch seated into the hole and still have reliable cartridge ejects.

  14. @knives4thewin The rifle is designed for 22LR only. The lower receiver is not compatible with standard AR uppers as the trigger group is different. There is also no buffer in the stock.

  15. Thank you!!! I was wondering how to REALLY get it apart to clean it. I even called the company and they said it shouldn't have to come apart anymore than the "field striping". HA!
    Again Thank you!!

  16. @venomDgamer At 12:05 the spring has 2 pieces, a round plunger and then spring. You put the small plunger into the hole first and then the spring, which will be against the barrel.
