  1. If there is one thing I can tell you guys that you can take to the bank… >> STOP "upgrading" your rifle and just build another one how you want it. Now you have several badass guns that are progressively better, and not just one gun and a bucket of old parts.

  2. i have the ALG combat trigger and it's awesome. technically it's made by Geissele (the dude's wife actually) and it's SINGLE STAGE. fuck that two stage take up shit. your finger is the take up. it's reasonably priced too…
    thumbs up!

  3. Single point slings are more of a niche sling. They are really slick for switching left to right while working predominantly inside of an urban zone (clearing structures and dwellings) or while riding in a vehicle, but that practicality lessens in comparison to a two point sling once you start having to do more. You will not think so highly of a single point sling once you have to go hands off your rifle and sprint (especially when having to carry something) and climbing or crossing an obstacle (wall, fence or other barricades and defilade). The two point sling will not beat your boys or your thighs (sometimes your kneecaps) like the single point sling when you have to run. Nor will the two point sling drag and snag as easily when going over obstacles as a single point sling will. It all depends on what is more practical for your current situation, but situations change when least expected and often, more so in certain places than others.

A two point sling can be attached at the buttstock and at the handguard just in front of the receivers, can be attached or just behind the receivers and at the handguard just in front of the receiver. There's no need to attach at the buttstock and forend of the handguard except for personal preference, typically us older guys. Well, except for me, I was glad when I could finally get away from the M16A2's solid buttstock and FSB sling points.

How are those rifles treating you after a few months? Have you put them through their paces yet? Have fun and be safe, fellas.

  4. Midwest Industries rails are awesome – I have two. I have a BCM upper for a standard A4 style 20" rifle build and it is crazy accurate. The Spikes calico jack (pirate) lower rifle was the only one in the group where the brass was ejecting at 3 o'clock. The others need a heavier buffer; they seem to be over gassed a bit.

  5. If you don't want to spend to much on a RD check out Holosun. They make some great budget optics. Same size and weight as the aimpoint T-1 but far less money

  6. Awesome vid fellas, I like them all, very nice job on these considering the budget 🙂 I've never done a build but I really would like to, I think if I did I would focus on super light weight, currently my go to rifle is the LWRCI DI which is just a tank and truly rocks, not exactly heavy either at only 6.6 pounds naked but it would be awesome to have one that's more like 5.5 for cqb with a shorter barrel
