I find removing the tapper pins that hold on the triangle shaped front sight on the AR-15 rifle to be one of the toughest jobs out there. In this video I will demonstrate how you can do it with no specialized tools. However, the rest of the dis-assembly for putting on the new free float hand guards will require a couple of basic AR15 tools. I tried to make this video as basic as possible knowing that most AR variant carbine owners do not have all the cool armory tools that most guns smiths do. See part 2 for the actual install of the new free float hand guards for this dedicated 22LR upper.

If you want to get rid of that drop in carbine tail let me know. I could use one for my patrol rifle
Great video thanks I guess I need to buy some tools though
Very informative but dam you scratch barrels like Freddy Krueger!
Lol your hammering pins on a flat table. You need a bench block with a hole for the pins to come out. Your not able to hammer the pins out because the other side of the pin is hitting the table. Lmao!
Wow this was a very helpful and informative video. One question for you. Were do you normally purchase your aftermarket parts such as the gas block, free float tube, and quad rail? Is there a website with competitive pricing or do you go to a local gunshop?
Maybe the trick is having a glass of wine before messing with those pins.
I am now having a Bourbon and Coke before I go back to those F#@$#in pins and see if that does the trick…lol
Great vid man, thanks for the info.
I cant get the pins out for the sake of me im on verge of cutting them
Absolutely excellent video. Subbed!
I would get a silicon pot holder and wrap it around barrel to keep from scratching
Thank you!!!
Hammer on hammer worked
Finally
could you keep on the little plate that holds on the handgaurd? I want a low profile gas block but want to keep my MOE handgaurd. Is that possible?
Alcohol or any other mind-altering substance and firearms do NOT mix!
Is there a good reason not to try to drive the taper pins out with the barrel clamped in the vise block? Seems like it would transfer the energy better. Aluminum to soft?
Ha! Us folks in the "compliant" states don't have to waste time taking off the flash hider because we're not allowed to have flash hiders…
Itβs a handguard not a tube
Actually, the delta ring holds the rear part of the handguard in place. The barrel nut is what holds the barrel in place. π
I closed my eyes when you got the second hammer out. I would recommend adding heat to aid the more than adequate size punch with the smallish hammer.
Lmfao that looks gay as shit working on your ar15 drinking wine
Don't make fun of me,I'm 15,kinda new to the ar world.I'm building an ar from complete scratch I was wondering if I could reuse the a2 sight on a different build after I take it off this gun.i know they're like 30$ new but every penny helps.
I just thought u had three hands
You mutilated that rifle……
