  1. Been running the tlr2 on pistols for 10plus years simply cause it’s always been so much shorter in the holster. I’ll be picking up a tlr8 from now on. As for the laser I’ve never once had to readjust a single tl2 once setup. My very first original one was originally on an fs92 I carried for 4 or so years and is still on my g19 I carry most days. Laser is still spot on although I will say I set them up for 15 yards max as a point shoot aid more so then a precision device.

  2. Always enjoy your videos! Great information delivered in a very digestible way for me to follow. Thank you for all you do for the community that's following you. I shoot better and more confidently with many of the tips you've freely given out…

  3. @7:11, This is why I don’t like this sort of dual purpose switch that everyone seems to be using now. This press and hold for momentary is more of press and hold for over a second realistically. One day, I hope, we’ll have a decent pistol light for conceal carry.

  4. You've completely missed the most powerful function of this unit (at least the TLR-7 that I own). THE MOST POWERFUL STROBE I"VE EXPERIENCED!!! THE 500 LUMEN EXTREMELY QUICK AND NOT JUST BLINDING BUT A DISABLING STROBE THAT THROWS THE RECIPIENT/PERPETRATOR OFF BALANCE OR AT VERY LEAST, CONFUSES HIM/HER.

The 7 comes from the factory in the 500 Lumen straight light mode. To enable the powerful strobe you press either one of the "On" buttons 9 times quickly and on the 10th time you hold it and it turns on the strobe function! Now you can PUSH FORWARD ON THE ACTIVATORS AND LET OFF FOR TEMPORARY LIGHT ON/OFF – PUSH "IN" AND LET GO TO TURN IT ON TO A PERMANENT BEAM (UNTIL YOU PRESS AGAIN TO TURN IT OFF). THEN.,,…….IF YOU PRESS EITHER SIDE OF THE ON/OFF SWITCH 2 TIMES/TWICE QUICKLY YOU SET OFF THE 500 LUMEN VERY QUICK STROBE EFFECT THAT, (at least blew me away when I first discovered it!)

It's so effective that there is a warning about using it just for testing if there is a person near that has either epilepsy or one of the various other seizure conditions that can be triggered by flashes or even watching television cartoons as this will most definitely cause an issue immediately.

This setting is by itself literally a home defensive weapon as even with people not prone to seizures are quickly knocked off balance and/or confused, gaining you valuable seconds more than with a regular flashlight on position type setting though 500 lumens straight is nothing to blink at.

  5. Very nice testing and review. You put it through its Paces a lot more than I did.

The TLR-8 is actually my new go to light laser combo on my Sig 229 RX Legion. I originally had a Viridian c5l with a green laser. I loved that the c5l had a strong green laser option. But the 130 Lumen light just wasn't cutting it.

Although I'm surprised that you didn't show the strobe feature. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a strobing laser or even green laser option. But to be honest I don't use lasers all that much anyway. But just because you have a tool doesn't mean you need to use it. Train with it and run it through its paces… but you don't need to use it. Even so it's nice to have if you need it.

Also it's worth noting that just about any laser that bolts onto a Glock pistol and doesn't secure to the trigger guard can be pushed off 0. The rails on Glock pistols, and many other polymer frame guns, are a bit too flexible. I've actually moved my laser off target on smaller frame guns do to my grip style several times at the range. Just one more reason I like an all metal frame gun. Some people might complain about the weight but I carry in a shoulder rig. So it's far less of an issue for me.
