That is not how that piece goes on… those "cutouts" at the back are there to go around the stud post. On top of that cover and the stock itself there is two little lines… those two little lines are what should go togther

Are you able to use all holes in the buffer tube to make the LOP shorter?
I like this B5 stock but unfortunately for me I don't think it will not work on my A2 length rifle buffer tube. The set screw fixes length stock in place using the locking positions on the buffer tube, don't think these locking positions and the channel for them are on the A2 buffer tube.
I appreciate your video for the visuals. But your tape trick will yield a different length of pull than you had with the original stock.
