Yesterday, after immense pressure from sportsmen and women across the state, the provisions regarding Sunday hunting, crossbow hunting, and archery setbacks that were stripped from the House budget were added back to a bond bill. That bill was voted on in the House and passed unanimously. S. 3064 is now headed back to the Senate. S. 3064, an environmental and conservation bond bill, was amended to include the following provisions:
- A repeal of the ban on Sunday hunting in Massachusetts
- An expansion of archery hunting laws to permit crossbows for all hunters
- A reduction in archery setbacks that would significantly increase land access, particularly in eastern Massachusetts.
