Tomorrow, May 20th, the House Gun Violence Prevention Committee will hold a hearing on House Bill 4417, banning many common semi-automatic handguns. Please use the Take Action button below to contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE HB 4417!
HB 4417 would ban so-called “machine gun convertible pistols,” using vague and overbroad language that targets many common semi-automatic handguns, including all Glock pistols, simply because criminals might illegally modify them with conversion devices. These devices are already illegal under both state and federal law. This legislation is not only unconstitutional but a completely misguided policy proposal, removing the ability for law-abiding citizens to purchase some of the most popular and commonly owned firearms on the market. .
