  1. Nice! This your first AR? First thing to get for this bad boy is a sling.
I really like the BFG vickers sling. If you start modding that thing, here’s a list of nice replacements

    Stock – b5 sopmod
Back up iron sights – magpul mbus pro
    White light – surefire g2x
Trigger – rise armament drop in (many options, but I like flat trigger with a 3.5lb pull. Get some antiwalk pins too if your replace the trigger)
Red dot – sig Romeo5 (budget) aim point t2 (best)
Handguards – Midwest industries quad rail drop ins

And of course buy as much ammo as you possibly can, 55 grain for soft targets, 62 grain green tip for penetration. Have fun man, AR’s are really fun.

Edit: Personally I hate the angle on the stock grip, I recommend swapping it out for a bravo mod zero/mod3 (depending on hand size) or magpul moe

  2. You did great for a first timer! I heard from an old AK guy that you can put a rifle that is still in Cosmoline in a black plastic trash bag and hang it in the sun on a hot day and it makes it all liquify and run out of the gun, never tried it myself though, I have an SKS that's still in the grease that I might try it on this summer.
