  1. Love 30-06 but it’s pretty close to maxed out when it comes to North American cartridges. 300 win mag ,338 is about max and not much between that and 30-06 For the most part anyways

  2. Started with a .243 at age 12, jumped up to a .270 when I was 15 and never looked back. Still use it for deer 35 years later despite having other options, love the .270. My daughter even used it for her first elk.

  3. The next new cartridges are.

    1. 243 win
    2. 25-06 Rem
    3. 260 Rem
    4. 30-30
    5. 270 win
    6. 280 Rem
    7. 7 Rem Mag
    8. Dirty 06
    9. 300 Win Mag

    Honorable mentions.

    257 Bob, 7×57 Mauser, 35 Whelen

  4. I shoot .308win but i live in europe, and the biggest game in my area is red deer, and that it's a bit smaller than an elk. And sometimes brown bear, basicly a 800lb grizzly, but those are very restricted

  5. 300 Win Mag since 1983. Use it for Antelope, Whitetail and Mule deer and Elk. Love it for all and it will allow me to take deer at ranges that other caliber’s just won’t allow. I reload for it so I practice a lot, shot out 1 barrel and I’m close to having to go barrel shopping again in a year or so.
