I’ve noticed some ar’s run perfectly with a H3 and a springco red spring (mine performs flawlessly with my 10.5” upper. As soon as you start lengthening the upper, the springco red spring AND the H3 buffer goes away quick!! With a normal 16” upper I generally prefer a H2 buffer with a GEISSELE super 42 spring. Thats been my best luck so far!
Running a T3 spikes in my 16" BRN4, with a Hux can, shoots @ about 5:00 and 3:00 unsuppressed. with 55 Grain 5.56. I started on the heavy side, and it cycles smoothly with LRBHO. So far very happy. Have a 10.4 also to zero, probably start with a T2. Thanks for the Information 🙂
I run the Geissele Super 42 H3 buffer on an 416 with a 10.4. It’s tuned perfect and runs flawless with full powered ammo, both unsupp and supp. I have limited experience with the BRN-4 sounds like they have things more constricted, less over-gassed. Lighting things up buffer wise or shoot strictly supp.
For those whom didn't actually watch the video, it's a BRN4 upper, which is a 416 clone. They're gassed for standard springs and H1/H2 buffers. The 10.4" is pretty conservatively gassed in particular, they suppress quite nicely, but really only like full power 5.56 ammo. You can swap in a standard carbine buffer if using low power ammunition. They're a chore to get running unsuppressed with a FRT due to how they're gassed.
Actual HK 416, especially those of that era, are overgassed, oversprung, and overbuffered to the extreme. They're designed for reliability at the cost of all else, including parts wear, but there's almost nothing you can do if adding a suppressor, or using higher pressure ammunition than M855 spec. Hence why SF and the USMC had issues suppressing them with old NT4 cans, and using early lots of M855A1.
Use an HK buffer. It is in between an H2 and an H3. Also use an HK spring, it's not the same as a milspec spring. Also just throw that bastard brownells gun in the trash and build an actual 416 with HK parts.
Use an H2. That’s what I run in my 10.5 build, this Friday I’m picking up a delta team FRT-L3 and that gonna require a step above the H2. I’ll have to move to the H3 with the FRT-L3 trigger.
Idk how that could be too heavy unless u did something with the gas block. I use h3 on a 10.3 which has the same length gas tube and it cycles fine with and without.

Someone like my comment so I come back.. for future reference…
Piston system doesnt have that issue. Another L for DI wimps
I took the weight out of my bcg idk if yours has one and I use a reg buffer works great
You forgot to jerk it forward so that the gun moves forward and the bolt carrier group keeps moving back
Opened up my 10.4 to .076 runs like a top now with H2 👌
What buffer weight would you recommend for a 11.5 unsuppressed upper?
What's really funny is my KAC cqb mod 2 runs like a top with h3😂 a bit of a slut that rifle is
Probably was because of the helmet

Wtf is the point of wearing a helmet if u aren’t going to strap it? U look dumb
BS

It ain’t got no gas in it
Ammo usage is also super important, full power 77gr 5.56 can also determine if you can cycle just fine with a heavier buffer. Keep this in mind.
Why the helmet?
Would a h3 buffer with wired spring work good Ona 7.5?
I put a hydraulic buffer in my 20 inch build and now it won't eject. I run it suppressed, so I'm trying an H3. We will see.
Fabulous defense
dafuq? just built a 10.3” that cycled the 6.9oz 9mm buffer no problem
H2 with slightly heavier spring works well with or without silencer
What's a good buffer for a regular 16in barrel 1/7th twist? I'm prior military and we never changed these items out, so I'm new to the buffer game
I have a 4.5 on binary lower I ordered a heavy buffer spring should I go h2 or h3

I got a question I’m hoping you can help ninja , I have a 7.5 inch ar15 and it’s slightly over gassed . Do you recommend a h2 or h3 buffer ?
HEY what about a 7.5 I think mine slightly over gassed

What barrel is that? Gas port size is important too
Something wrong with your gun. H3 works fine in my experience.
Is this a 5.56 build?
I've been running an H3 on my 10.3 for years without issues!
Light buffer spring would make it run no can I bet. Cycles faster too
Run the can
Not enough gas
Idk how that could be too heavy unless u did something with the gas block. I use h3 on a 10.3 which has the same length gas tube and it cycles fine with and without.
Do you like bear creek arsenal? I have a 10.5” from them it is smooth with a pistol buffer tube !
Do you think it would be too heavy for a 11.5 build ?
How about H2? have you tried it?. I just build a 10.5 wonder which buffer will run smoothly
