At EnforceTac 2026, we got a full hands-on walkthrough of the Sako ARG series with a Sako representative, including the ARG 40 GP, ARG 40 DI, and ARG 50 GP. The ARG platform, short for Arctic Rifle Generation, is Sako’s modern service rifle system designed from the ground up for extreme environments. The ARG 40 models are chambered in 5.56 and offered in both short-stroke gas piston and direct impingement configurations, while the ARG 50 GP is the 7.62 variant built for extended range and sustained duty use. These rifles are engineered around durability, cold-weather performance, and military-grade reliability, with fully ambidextrous controls, monolithic-style upper construction, and robust component selection throughout. After handling all of them at EnforceTac 2026, the question becomes whether Sako just built one of the most refined AR-pattern rifles on the market.

Magpul SL stock is the way
Military rifle with mlok…no thanks
i looked up sako rifle prices and i can't afford it.
Pretty sweet. The accuracy doesn’t sound as good as I’d want to hear personally but I imagine that’s probably pretty standard for a military rifle?
Amazing colors and those are some cool developments. Now we need to give a simo hayha one of these.
That Finnish trick is hilarious with the kerosene btw. Glad to see NATO partners arming up. Finns and swedes don’t play.
Good Job James!
God I want one
Come to Florida for the US healthcare system! Lol good luck! 😂
But those AR's are awesome! Especially being interchangeable!
The reason why they don't say .5 moa is because alot of militaries use general purpose ammo for precision shooting so they say 1.5 moa which is still nice
Almost turned this off after hearing the word "mortgage." So triggered.
Those look good.Good interview Jonas.
is the DMR variant a DPMS Gen1? or it is it's whole own thing?
I was impressed with his knowledge of American dimensional lumber. Those also look like nice rifles
Most off the shelf American AR-15s will shoot one and a half MOA at 110 yards that's nothing exciting 👎
Fantastic stuff James. I want one of the DI 5.56 rifles!
🇺🇸
I'd like to see Beretta get that design into the U.S. Failing that, I'd like to see that piston system offered as a kit. Being able to fit a piston under a slim MLOK handguard would be outstanding.
I need that 7.62 NATO!
I didn't know the fins were robots
I bet it's sex on skis
It’s a beauty. Love that more companies are adding an actual ambi bolt hold and release.
1:03 There we go folks. 11.5" is the best AR15 barrel length.
Fantastic
6:50 dry Teflon spray. Source: North Dakotan. Leave your rifle outside if you go inside and plan to go back out. otherwise condensation will form and ice up.
2:47 the Swedish green is absolutely drippy

Somebody give this guy some water.
That rep seems incredibly knowledgeable about all those rifles! Very impressive!
I'm an AK guy, but I'd consider grabbing a short piston ARG. Hopefully they can figure out how to export them.
