Do you really need a 1,000-lumen rifle light? In this clip, I explain why 600–800 lumens is the true sweet spot for rifle-mounted lights. It gives you enough brightness to clear rooms and ID threats, while preserving battery life for real-world scenarios.

⚡ Even top brands like Streamlight only run ~1 hour at full blast — so finding the balance is key.

💡 Avoid anything under 400 lumens — that’s when you start dipping into dim and dangerous territory.

  1. It depends on the application?? If it’s for home defense, battery run time means absolutely fuckall and it’s objectively better to point the fucking sun at a threat so that they can’t see you.

  2. My 2,000 lumen streamlight has months without a recharge i use it constantly for hours at a time to train but if ima be 100% with you there is no scenario in the world where you will use your light for anything over than 5-10 minutes on top of if you are doing a long operation which civilians don’t do but we gona talk about it you should have sustainment up to 72 hours that includes food batteries ammo cloths water etc this isn’t to bash on anyone’s knowledge its just to add to it hopefully if you read this you take something away from it
