Palmetto State Armory AR-15 — 500 Round Budget Rifle Reliability Test

In this video, I put 500 rounds through a budget Palmetto State Armory AR-15 to see if an affordable rifle can actually hold up under real range use. This is a no-fluff, real-world reliability test focused on function, recoil, accuracy, and overall performance — not marketing hype.

✅ Build List:

Budget AR-15s are everywhere, but not all of them are created equal. The goal here is simple: Does this PSA AR-15 run, or does it choke when the round count goes up?

What’s covered in this video
500-round reliability test
Ammo performance and consistency
Recoil and shootability
Accuracy at distance
Any malfunctions (or lack of them)
Who this rifle actually makes sense for
Why this test matters

Affordable AR-15s are often recommended as entry-level rifles, but many shooters never see them pushed past a few mags. This video shows how a real budget PSA rifle performs after sustained use, so you can decide if it’s worth your money.

  1. Okay…."can you do an entire range session, suppressed, WITHOUT hearing protection??…..NO"….to that I say….nut up sissyboy… GEEZUS; I've been shooting firearms for 60 yrs.; including time in the U.S.M.C. in the 80's; and we had some loooong shooting sessions at the range; hundreds of rounds per day, unsupressed; hearing protection…. non-existent; I've never, to this day used hearing protection whilst shooting OUTDOORS…stop being soft…; my hearing is still, just fine; my loud ass 80's metal music probably hurt my ears more than shooting 😂😂😂 my generation (Gen X) survived without hearing protection outside; still do; so will you goobers that insist on "protection"….no hearing protection in combat..so…get used to it now ..

  2. I see some good reviews of this rifle. I really believe the folks making poor or negative comments in the various videos don't own one or have never shot one. I have $450 to $7 grand AR 's I have bought (cheap ones) and much higher grade ones I have built. The main thing for me is do they shoot, function, and have good groups at 200 meters or less. I hope no one would buy a lower cost AR for competition or long range shooting LOL. Good review

  3. I have a couple PSA’s and a couple more expensive ARs and I find zero performance differences. Yes the others are more “premium”, but shooting them side by side, I would be hard pressed to call the more expensive ones better….
