  1. I feel $500-$600 for a first rifle is fine. We don’t recommend a McLaren or Shelby GT500 as a first car so why does a first rifle have to be a premium build. Let people grow up in to the sport. Get “your budget” rifle, train and then work piece by piece on that premium weapon.

  2. I bought a fun-gun AR pistol from PSA. 10 1/2" barrel & I did my trigger job + good optic. On my range (I own some property) it can give me 2" inch groups all day. It's at five thousand rnds now.
    It's taken more coyotes than most people ever see.
    I've done the water test (I did do the 3 holes in the back of the receiver tube for drainage if submerged), dirt/mud test in my pond & just did my freezing test 5 days ago. It never failed & yesterday it grouped at just 2 1/2" 5 shot group.
    I do have 2 other AR rifles that are pricey but this little PSA turd is a freaking blast!
    Side note, it will cycle 40 grn bullets.

  3. Please stop feeding the geriatric Daniel Defense crowd. GoldenWebb tested multiple DD uppers that CATASTROPHICALLY failed at relatively low round counts given barrel profile & cost, EXPLODING out the side of the barrel where your support hand would be instead of “Failing Safe” at the Gas tube… DD is NOT a top tier company and never was, poor initial designs and no innovation has left them in the dust.

  8. Hey brother can you do a review on vector optics continental 2-12 I am currently building out an spr I’ve seen some really good reviews on the vector optics as a good budget option they also have lpvos if you’d like to test out those as well

  9. I think the video missed the mark ! The recommendations seem like ad’s because they are not supported with reason. When looking at your videos non of the “budget”options are there. In fact all the content features high end products and while that’s great, budget isn’t presented by this channel. Also I understand “budget”is subjective , when people are asking about budget products it’s not sons or criterion price ranges.

    Upgrade Trigger,Gas block,BCG,Charging Handel,Buffer & Spring,Red Dot- LPVO- Irons sights that is you thing,Buttstock,muzzle for suppressor. I have done this a few times over the years and I have definitely learned what I like and what to pass on this is definitely a good avenue to go down I definitely take my time and have no regrets building over time.

  18. For “budget” triggers Larue MBT are fantastic, can normally be found on sale under a $100 if you search enough. We have used them on a ton of client builds with great feedback on all. Schmidt 2 stage next on that line.

  19. Surprised you havent tried anything from Foward Controls Design…I feel like they make some of the best parts on the market. Their collab parts with SOLGW are top teir. Also I have been running Triarc Trac II barrels for years and I am completely sold. Love your channel and great work…I've been here since the start and always love the content.

  20. Just finished my dream build… for anyone thinking about, I promise you… its so worth it. From the research, making the list, budgeting and saving to get the parts, ordering them, receiving them… and then starting building and assembly. When you see it all come together and you get to use it, its a feeling thats kind of hard to describe. The journey is worth it.

  23. Be careful, resale value will be terrible. You might have to part it out if you ever decide to sell, which can be time consuming. Buying a quality factory built rifle from a well known brand will always have more resale value. Just my 2 cents…

  28. This is the video I was looking for. I want to build one with every part being high end since the AR will be my end all be all for me. it will be my go to for all things AR….Range, Home Defense/Self Defense and Emergencies. I would like to build a 5.56/2.23 and one as 7.62. as far as putting it together, I might have to find an Armorer to put it all together.
