On Wednesday, January 7, the Assembly Committee on State Affairs will hold a public hearing on Assembly Bill 609, legislation allowing for permitless concealed carry in Wisconsin. AB 609, introduced by Rep. Chanz Green, recognizes your right to carry a concealed firearm for self-defense without seeking government permission by eliminating the requirement that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit. The bill still preserves the option to obtain a permit, allowing licensees to carry a concealed firearm in other states that require licensure.
