The Streamlight Sidewinder is intended for military application. It’s a cool light, but I had a small problem with it.

Update: I sent the light in to Streamlight for repair and they sent me a new unit.
Red light is for use when you don't want to completely fry your natural night vision.
I love the sidewinder lights I have the rescue model with r/g/b/w/ir and has the slide diffuser and on my helmet is the sidewinder compact ii for task work the ir on the sidewinders is just incredible better than my v1 vampire which washes out my nods even on low if in enclosed spaces or looking at something close the sidewinders just work and on high in white light I can see 80yds out just fine I do hope you got yours taken care of they are great lights
Someone needs to keep this form factor going, it's the best utility light so far. Only thing that comes close is the wuben G5.
Try Mactronic Storm 1lp polish company flashlight
I've had one of these like 12 years. Still works good and I carry it every day.
Not good, i had planned on buying 2 at some point over the years.
What use is the ir light?
FYI, The Sidewinder X is making its way into the world right now with 275 lumens.
Just looks like a worse version of the tomahawk lights tbh, good review though
