M16A2 good, me like fixed carry handle sight. A2 strong, simple, straight. No need magic red dot glass box. Modern AR-15 weak, rely on shiny tricks and rails. Me trust steel and iron sight, not fragile gadget.

I got one last year now I want the XM15 Patrol.
My wife and I each have a Windham, Maine Bushmaster and I'll be honest and say these are the BEST ARs to date. The sheer quality and build of these rifles are incredible. I got mine from my dad when he passed. He always told me when I was a kid that when he got home from Iraq he wanted an AR almost identical to the M4s used during Iraq. Sure enough, someone suggested to him to get one of these rifles and he loved it. He decked it out with a quad rail and several Eotech stuff. When my father sadly passed, I inherited his rifle and have kept it in top notch shape. When my wife fired it for the first time she BEGGED me to find one just like my dad's for her to have. Sure enough, one gun show later, we found one just like my dad's and she bought it! Even though I acquired my dad's rifle and it's technically 'mine', my wife and I address it as 'dad's AR' because I feel a piece of him in that rifle (I forgot to mention he used that specific rifle as his service gun when he worked at the local police).
These are fantastic rifles and anytime someone asks me what AR they should get I always tell them to get a Bushmaster; especially a Windham, Maine version. Apparently Bushmaster is trying to redeem themselves which is something I would love to see. I'll never get any other AR!!! (Except an HK416…. I'm sorta an HK guy lol)
I shot Expert with that very platform in the Marines on Camp Pendleton 90-94. ❤

That's beautiful, I have the Colt M16A2s. They're so favourite of mine.
I have that same model Bushmaster among others. I love it as much as I love the rest of my ARs. Great rifle. I got mine after the 94 ban expired. Great, rugged, accurate, reliable rifle. Yes. It does bring back me.ories of the old days.
