I like to see people cleaning their barrels the way I do. You don’t have to treat it like brain surgery. Just keep everything as hard or harder than the barrel steel out of your bore.
Brass or nylon brushes will NOT remove steal barrel material. Its scientifically impossible. All the copper and lead deposits are all "dragged forward" into the rifling..You want to grab those deposits and catch the forward edges of them to release them from the barrel…REAM that shit!
I have a SS coated rod and it doesn't spin very well so the jag comes unscrewed. One time it came unscrewed and I found a metal shaving at the end of the rod? Did I damage the rod or the gun?
I'm surprised that Americans use a rod for barrel cleaning instead of a pull-through cord which is how I was taught by a British Army armourer. The main reason for the pull-through is that even if you forget, you can't accidentally push that contaminated patch back through the barrel.🤔
Hey Eric, do you think you could do a follow up video and show the size of groups you are achieving after cleaning this way? A lot of guys seem to be caught up in the superstition and tradition of the military versus putting the time in and testing old theories. I could be wrong but find me one of my fellow crayon eaters that are active duty that can tell you the optimal distance to the lands for their freedom machine. Or please ask them what a node is. Gentlemen, not to mention we're talking about apples and oranges here. F class is extremely different from qualifying as an expert on the range USMC. That being said I have learned 100 times more about ballistics since my time in. I love breaking down old myths, and I'd really like to see the results.
I’d like to see you have identical rifles with one cleaned one direction only and other brutally wire brushed. My guess you change barrels often. Round count them a few thousand each. Then do an endurance test in a 15-20 minute video. Curious if there really is a difference. Sounds like a brass brush but can slow the video down. Be an interesting test either way.
I'd love to have a shop like that just for my gun stuff. I'm lucky to have a corner of a cluttered garage to work on my guns. Not that I'm complaining. For years I didn't have a garage. I also didn't have a wife, so I could clean my guns anywhere I wanted in my crappy apartment. Lol
Nylon and brass brushes are softer than steel barrels if you manage to damage rifling you deserve a trophy just worry about crown damage you'll be okay

Well…Eric also used to use CLR…until he found out it voided barrel warranties. 🤣

Where's the rest of the video; how was the grease removed?
So a bronze brush and a drill is the wrong way? Odd never had a accuracy issue.
love it! 😂 Shut up Karens!
What proof of alcohol do you use… 90% 80% or 70% when you rinse out the barrel and the brush?
How do you clean the brush?
Savage animal !!!
If you actually read the instructions on the back of both Patch Out and Accelerator , they advise against agitation

That process looks extreme comparing my Soldier years with my M16A2

Easy & simple.

I was about to comment about how terrible I think this is. Then I saw who posted it. I guess I’m wrong.
I literally would never do that. Go ahead and scope that barrel after doing that dumb shit😂😂😂

You're all been deceived… He is trying to manipulate his opponents way of cleaning. It's a conspiracy…
No.
And he just goes to town 😂
Or you could just use a bronze brush and shave ⅔'s of the work off your next cleaning job!! Just saying!😅
