I use some thing thin like a razor blade to hold the spring in place until I get it into position and then slide it out so the spring pops into position.

Worth mentioning to be mindful not to cross thread the screw especially if you have a polymer lower in such a case you’ll cause a world of problems.

An easy way to hold the selector detent spring is to apply a dab of moly grease to the outside of the spring. Also, apply a dab to the detent hole as well that hold the detent in and prelubes the Detent / Seletor interface.
